I do think it would help if you had set areas of the house where you work. And if you don't want to set designated hours of the day when you*are* working then why not do the opposite and set designated hours when you are *not* working. E.g. You won't work after 8pm or whatever, and let your mum know that too to give her guidance over when she can call.

I completely agree, I have exactly the same issues as OP, luckily for me my husband only works from home about one day a week, but I always feel like he's checking up on me, and judging what I really do during the day when noone's around.

Tamara - thinking is absolutely essential and no they don't get it. :( I think I'm prolly more er 'tethered' to laptop tho bc today for example been transcribing and editing a long interview.

firefly5 - well I've stared at screen so many hrs today my eyes feel on stalks and I needed eye drops. I had a 2 hr nap, OH can make of that what he will :D

I'm all excited since it seems the mag has been nominated for an award :T OH was visibly impressed. My mother was all oh really, stil with nose out of joint.

Who is this guy Noone and what is he doing around?

No wonder your husband is checking up on you.
