The GMC have now twigged on and are saying that e-cigs are more effective than methods they're currently using. Now that they've realised that, they should introduce regulation to ensure the e-liquids sold are all of "medical quality". I buy Hangsen Liquids which are properly graded and manufactured to a high standard. I don't want to be poisoned by something I started doing to save my own life.0

I used to smoke 40 a day, but have never reverted back since I bought e-cigs. I use Nicolites, they sell them in the pharmacy, all other methods failed but I have not smoked a cigarette in over two Years and am never likely to be tempted.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

As a chemical worker x12yhp I would be really interested to know what research or info you hold to have the confidence to say that e-juice is "potentially fatal"
The info is that which I have read on the packaging of the fluids used with the e-cigarettes, as I noted above. Quick recap, the packaging I have seen is plastered with warnings like "may be fatal if inhaled". So, from my perspective, the only way I could not come to the conclusion about the potentially fatal nature would be by ignoring the health and safety warnings on the packaging.
Oh, it will almost certainly be the flavourings which are the issue.Always overestimating...0 -
I have been "vaping" for a year now -and have not touched a cigarette since.
For those that do not know the PG in the e-juice provides the throat hit and the VG provides the vapour. So if you like loads of vapour get a juice with higher VG.
E-cigs are basically a battery and atomiser (clearomiser) - For those thinking of starting out I highly recommend an EVod starter kit. I get my juice from a seller on internet, to whom I know sells safe high quality juice, at only £1.50 for 10mls and will supply the juice at whatever PG/VG mix you want, I go for 50/50 mix.
You also specify the nicotine strength required, I use 12mg but for some-one just quitting I would suggest 18mg or 24mg to start with. The nicotine is vaporised so is diluted already when it gets in your system (you cant therefore compare cigarette nicotine strength to e-juice nicotine)
If any-one wants any more info on a good starter kit or juice just PM me.
I am not an expert but believe me over the last year I have tried them all and if I can help any-one stop smoking I will happily point you in the right direction.0 -
I treat e-cigs like normal cigs to be honest and I do agree that these shouldn't be allowed to be inflicted on others, especially as it is not clear on how this effects people.
I have never smoked indoors or in the car as my son has asthma and if I am puffing on an e-cig I only do it outdoors. I have tried quitting cigs for years and never had much successE-cigs have been great for me thou and other smokers should be encouraged to use them as an alternative, they are probably still doing harm but they are without doubt a lot less harmful than the real thing
I am trying, honest;) very trying according to my dear OH:rotfl:0 -

I have never ever seen packaging on e-juice that says "may be fatal if inhaled" please advise me what brand/product this is????
Yes all e-juice packaging should say "Contains Nicotine, toxic if swallowed" - that's just good advice and common sense.
"Chemical workers" like you seem to enjoy scare mongering.0 -
I started off by spotting an e-cig in Tesco's and buying it to try it out. I realised that I was getting as much out of it as I was a real cig and I went down to about 5 real cigs a day. Then somebody on another website talked me into buying a shisha e-cig and from the day it arrived I've never smoked. I just don't feel like smoking anymore. It's a little worrying that there have been no long term studies carreied out on e-cig use and I'd be happier if there were but in the meantime I'm happy in the knowledge that there are only trace amounts of one or two carcinogens in e-cigs but there are over 100 in every cigarette you smoke. My chest feels so much better these days but I know it'll take a lot more time than the 5 months I've been using e-cigs to repair the damage done by smoking for so long.0

There are so many of the oils being imported from China by every bedroom seller out there, how long until we hear people getting ill from it? A lot of these sellers won't know or particularly care what is in them and some of the Chinese manufacturers could be putting allsorts in there to save a few pennies.
How do you know where your oils come from and how do you know whats really in them?0 -
You can always make your own - really easy and cheap. That way you know exactly whats in it.
