1st leg: October 1-10 the SWIM
At the start of a triathlon, there are some who are dressed head-to-toe in sleek neoprene. They dive effortlessly into the water and immediately get into their stroke and swim strongly. Every so often they will raise their head to look at the marker they are aiming for, then they put their head down again and surge forwards.
Others walk gingerly into the water, one hand holding up the cossie with dodgy elastic to stop it falling down, uncertain as to when to bob under and start a frantic doggy paddle.
But ALL are taking the same route. All have a goal and all will get there in the end.
The start of a month is often the time when dds go out, you pay off your debt (as per the gameplan) and hunker down to live off the rest. You have renewed energy and enthusiasm and feel confident of maintaining your plan for the next 31 days. Your credit card may be frozen in a tub of water for ‘safekeeping’, you have turned down outings, you have done a meal-plan for the month and are using up your stockpiles of store cupboard food. You are full of determination to see this through.
This is the time to try to raise some extra income – can you sell anything on FB, Bay of E, Gumtr33?
And clear yourself some extra space by giving things away. 31 items would be good – 1 for each day.
This month, keep a tally of how many miles you cover using a car, your bike, on foot, or by bus (for those who are unable to walk). Just be aware of any unnecessary journeys in the car…NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Hi everyone
Tiggy10 really impressed, I'm afraid I would not have been so good!!!
Right this afternoon I made 4 x shep pie, 4x veggie pie, 4x sweet & sour, 4 x spag bol, 8 portions of almond tart, brownies and scones, they are all frozen and ready for use in October. All made with stuff I had in so although it hadn't cost me anything it just goes to show how crazy my stores are considering there's only me. So not that proud really.
Anyway got out this morning and looked after dgd2 whilst her mum was at work and it fair wore me out but my back is gradually returning to normal so I will be back to work on Thursday with the help of the pain killers.
Going to make a start on getting rid of 31 things, but I don't do the bay of e etc so I will have a think of how I can acquire some extra money. The sorted stuff will go to local cs I will have to make sure I don't buy anything.
Anyway really chuffed I kept to budgets in September, so this month I'm lowering the food money by £20 (suppose that's £20 acquired) but the fuel money will have to stay the same, but I will be extra careful how often I use it, just to go to work (there's no buses that early in the morning) and to my dd3 when I look after dgd, again theres no buses from where I live.
Anyway I'll stop rabbiting cos I need to get to bed as I'm sitting dgd again tomorrow morning
