Count me in too please AM! Loving the triathlon theme.

Its the transitions that look the trickiest bit in a triathlon to me, and isn't that true of debt busting too? Just when you get into the swing of one discipline, you screech to a stop, have a awkward pause adjusting footwear etc, then charge off again, wobbiling at first, with muscles that are now having to work in a very different way. Thats exactly how I feel when I hit a glitch in the old DFW plan, then you get into the zone for the next stage, and before you know it, you have to swap muscle groups again!

This is definitely true! I always find I start off to quickly in the month and then burn out of money and energy part way through. Need to learn the pace myself and prepare and anticipate for the changes.

Please count me in and I will try to participate more this month.

Things at work have settled down a bit at least for me as I now have a definite date for redundancy so I can now plan the rest of my life.

See you all on the 1st.

  • Welcome one and all!

Make sure you spend the next few days finishing off your September challenges with gusto, and take time to set your October budgets carefully.

Several have said that they really need to have a frugal month, so be realistic with what you set.

Draw up a calendar of events/ appointments/ meetings/ half term so you aren't surprised by them. Hallowe'en happens every October so plan your get-out strategy now. Curtains closed, lights out and an early night? A sign on the door saying that you don't do trick or treaters? Does that sound stingy? Well, you are the one in debt - do not put yourself further into debt by buying sweets (and tat).

The clocks will be going back an hour soon, but make that a time for reflection instead of saving it to catch up on missed sleep.

See you at the starting line!

Count me in please! I already decided this month to do go sober and no eating out apart from 2 birthdays! This seems just the challenge to keep me on track.

  • Add me to the list please Apple Muncher.

Not done any challenges for a while, but things started to slip a little in September and I really need to get back on track as soon as possible, before Christmas and end of year birthdays catch me by surprise.

Going to be a super frugal October and this thread will help xxx
