Good morning,
yesterday was a SFD,number 7 I think.Today I will need to spend though, on formula (got a £2.25 off voucher) and postage to Germany. Got £50 quid left of my grocery budget which might be okish. But my HH budget is way over because of an administrative errori.e. in my spreadsheet I got it down as 60 quid whereas it should have read at least 100.
Now done my budgets for Nov and Dec as DD's nursery finally told me what it charges a month. Next month we'll still have vouchers to use up. But after that nursery will for both will cost us 630 to 950 depending on whether it's a 4 or 5 week month and whether DS gets the 3yo funding. So some months are very tight but as long as I know and plan ahead which months are the bad ones it should be ok. Hopefully this will only last a year and then DD can go to the cheaper nursery too.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
Well what a gloomy lot we are, I was a nightmare yesterday weepy as well. Pigged out on coffee cake when I got home and wonder why I have gained 2lbs in weight today.
Turtles we need to de-stress in a warm sunny pool and chill............
Well Happy Tuesday folks, todays good news, spend free day planned, yummy grandson playtime after work and grateful that finally my youngest daughter has made contact.Even my other daughter failed to get hold of her, she was in Paris. Was starting to worry and seeing her tomorrow.
Bosses are in a good mood today as well. Must be Mondays!!!!!
Sad news my debt free day is going to be 2 yrs away being sensible, if I find a lodger this time scale will reduce but resigned to the fact now. Not as miserable as I was about it. Nothing I can do ;-)LBM 13039 1.1.13 Now £0 Finally Debt FreeMortgage free Oct 2019:)EFund/savings £25000 10/11/220 -

I am however scanning the sites for cheap and cheerful christmas bargains. No exercise today, I can barely move
Well have a good day everyone and I hope we can all feel better today

Caersugirl he had already given up his precious day off to dig my garden and paint lying on the bathroom floor (neither of which I can do - as evidenced by the stiff brush I used to do a tiny bit 2 weeks ago when I thought I could do another bit the following day), he left later than normal (likes to have evening meal ready when his gf comes in from work) and he had picked up his computer from the repairers so was lugging around a tower unit.
He also asked if DS3 had a ticket (student year now expired) but he wouldn't go and I didn't want to waste time arguing. I read my book on both journeys and caught the same bus back so wasn't really a problem, other than already being at my limit. Just keep thinking how much it would have cost to pay someone to do the work.
Have a good day everyone. Take time out for Turtles. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -

had a very strange but frustrating conversation with my OH yesterday. He saw that I was online yesterday and asked if i posted anything.so I said well yes it helps to know there are other people who have debts and are trying to cope and how they do it. He said but we're not in debt and i shouldn't be telling anyone else. I replied people don't know who we are and I said of course we are in debt we have two credit cards and we aren't able to pay them off in full in one go!!!! I 've obviously been talking to myself this past couple of months. Doesn't he think I've put us on a budget for the good of my health!!!!Sorry for rant. Anybody else have this problem?

Yep, OH is in his overdraft but thinks he needs to give me money soon as I pay more out a month or to save. Whereas he doesn't see that he maybe should get out of his OD first as it's debt. Also he thinks, oh we need a new front door, mattress, surfboard..... Erm, but we still owe the kids 2 grand that we borrowed for the wedding. (btw for those who think this is so not on, they are only 3 and 6 mo, and it is my priority to pay them back asap as I feel bad about it. But I'd rather owe them then a company with loads of interest.)DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
So glad I don't have an OH. Think they are mostly like that. I insisted on being in charge of the finances when I first got together with mine as I could not live the way he did - he had a well-paid job (not extra special but above minimum wage in a town where most places were closing) but his diary was full of months where he complained about having no money and having to stay in.
When he was made redundant he refused to even try to stop smoking and insisted he should be allowed to stay for a drink after a meeting rather than making one drink last through a meeting and coming straight home. Any time I told him we were on an economy drive the only difference for him was that he ate lots of lentil soup and he loved my lentil soup.
At one point he insisted he 'needed' shoes. I didn't understand as he had at least 5 pairs and I had one pair of ancient Jesus sandals to wear whatever the weather. He said what was 'wrong' with each pair (small faults) - I would have worn each pair in turn so that no particular fault caused problems/ blisters.
In the end I gave in and let him go to the seconds factory. He came back with two pairs 'because they were so cheap'. Each cost more than I had to spend on food for 4 of us for a week.
As you can probably guess, I am taking it easy today. I have water and porridge yoghurt and don't feel like moving yet. DS3 came in to get his trousers (trying to get some money back) and I asked him to pick up the laptop and the drill box I use as a support. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Just been to the PO (£5.15 postage) and Tesco (£7.10). Had a 2.25 off formula voucher and a save 6p of your next shop voucher. The 6p one didn't scan so they now do a cash subtraction. Only realised her typo back in work, so got another 60 p off.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250

Thriftylass, remember the days of nursery fees well - sadly I didn't feel any better off once they ended, all good intentions of putting same amount into savings sadly evaporated quite quickly once I stopped paying - I wasn't nearly so MSE in those days.
Mothernerd, it Is quite a tricky one to spell, am regretting it regularly but too late now, was a "quick, think of a name" moment. I didn't notice the typo til you pointed it out, a bit like those word games you see that have the first and last letter correct then the rest in a jumble but you can still read them without difficulty as your brain fills in the rest. My comment about the unplanned bus journey wasn't a criticism btw, just tickled me that my first thought was that I wouldn't have done it, and my second was, yes I would! And sounds like he earned that half a trip off with all he'd done for you yesterday, but not good for your plans to rest if his kind efforts helping you do that end up getting cancelled out anyway :-(
Sazzlebgood, my DH is exactly the same - though we're not in debt, more MFW, he's gone from being the careful one in the relationship to a complete spendthrift! He's just cut up his 0% CC as he'd put £2000 on it, with no big purchases to show for it, just bits and pieces to support his hobbies. Feel like I'm banging my head against a brick wall at times, but he has just given me 2/3 of his savings plan that's just matured to put in our Offset Mortgage account, so has redeemed himself a little of late.....lol!
Just lost the planned SFD as cream for pie was off when I opened it (was well out of date to be fair), so another trip to L!dl, got some frozen fruit and washing up liquid while I was there to pre-empt next spends. I see a pattern emerging, no wonder I never stick to my budget! Am gonna update my sig now to take SFD off, as think I'm just tempting fate.#21 Save £12k in 2025 £16977.35/£20000
