Blimey, some of you lot seem to invest a heck of a lot of faith in an easily faked/"adjusted" piece of round paper...0

Can someone advise how I can renew the tax on my vehicle? I've just bought the car and the tax expires on the 29th September. I haven't received the V5C yet but I have the new keeper slip. To tax the car I need to supply the 11 digit document reference number, but this one is 12 digits for some reason and so I can't enter it in online? Can someone explain/help?

As it says on the slip - you still need to go to a post office with the slip. You can't do it online for a car you've just bought. It's actually valid up to and including the 30th, and you can take it to a Post Office to renew it.0 -
Does anybody know if the DVLA has estimated the extra income they will earn for vehicles being double-taxed for a month when they are sold? That would be a very interesting number to know.0
