    Personally I'll be glad to get rid of my tax disc because I've always hated anything cluttering the windscreen and interfering with my peripheral vision.

    I do wonder though how many idiots will think this is a golden opportunity to avoid paying at all ... probably the same ones who have no insurance or MOT. It all comes down to the level of policing in the end and I don't see much police activity on our local streets any more, with or without ANPR.

    Not for long, unless the vehicle isn't registered to anybody traceable.
  • So if we are saving this much will we see a reduction in our Road tax cost?

    I don't mind if not if the money is redirected to repairing the plethora of potholes blighting our country that will only get worse in the winter months ahead.

    It's not been road tax for about 77 years! :)

  • So, no quick way of checking if a car has the right plates on now after an accident etc.
