So my iPhone 6 arrived......

Options
........ and it's dead as a dodo  won't power up at all. tried leaving it for half an hour to charge, tried a new charger, tried a soft reset, all to no avail.

I was online first thing on the 12th to pre order.....

Had to spend half an hour on an 0845 number, basically to be told, no I can't exchange it directly at my local apple store (as it was ordered online), they will send a courier to replace it, but it will take about a week.

Not chuffed! What makes it even more annoying is that I ordered 2, one for me and one for DH and his is working fine! Sadly they are different colours or I would have papped the faulty one off on to him!

LOL sorry I bet your jumping up and down, good old apple
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

I'd walk into a store and speak to them about it. Their customer service is really good and there's a good chance they'll sort it out for you.
  • I would ignore any advise over the phone about not taking it back to apple.

Apple are normally fantastic with these kind of things take everything with you explain what happened. I wouldnt be surprised if they handed you over a replacement

ok, I called my nearest store, and they basically said I need a genius bar appointment (can't do a straight swop at the tills as it was an online sale) and if it's faulty (it is) then they would exchange it with a refurb, but in this case, because the model is so new, they don't have refurbs so it would be a new handset.

BUT the next app outside my working hours is Friday evening, and I will prob have my replacement by then anyway.

They said I could go along tonight and they might be able to squeeze me in if there is a cancellation or a no show but they can't guarantee it.

    What to do????

The traffic is a total mare getting back from the store (getting there will be OK as I finish work at 415), but if the can't see me I'll be even more peed off and have to sit in a 45 minute traffic jam to get home!

If it was me I'd just head down there and see them. The 45 minutes of traffic will be worth it when you have your new handset :)

I think I will and I really hope you're right. As I said they said I will need to just show up and chance my arm that there is a genius bar cancellation / no show. Keep your fingers crossed for me :(

You could (perhaps) speed up the process if you stand and talk loudly to a member of staff and tell them that you wish to return this faulty iphone 6.

They wouldn't want you dissuading potential customers;)
