Lol pigpen, maybe. They've just scoffed 5 slices of jam on toast between them

Great bargains, skinty! Soggy pastries, yum :D

DW is on and I've tidied round clearing toys away. DS then got his mat and cars out :rotfl: still tidier than before though. They are ready for bed and will be heading upstairs shortly. I think I'm kind of done, tonight. I could do with sorting myself a manicure, so that might be tonight's job.

How are you getting on with your home manicures, pigpen? I had to remove my gel before my op, for the thingy they stick on your finger. And I've only done them once since - hard to believe its 3 weeks tomorrow. So it's high time I gave them a good file and popped some colour on.

On a plus side, the tablets I'm taking give me an ever so slight queasiness, and some foods I just can't stomach - so I'm barely snacking and not having bread etc. I've lost 11lbs in that 3 weeks :T although most of that was in the first week when I hardly ate at all.

    Right - bedtime routine here

  • Too be fair Bossy, I would rather eat tea soaked cardboard than have those vile Fresubins for every meal (and I only have two flavours although the manufacturer does do a mixed multi pack, which would offer some incentive to consume those greasy shakes) so I am limiting them to 2 a day instead of 4 and trying to have something real in between for my sanity.

DD1 is making french bread pizza for tea with yellow sticker tiger bread, yellow stickered salsa, yellow stickered pineapple and rocket and tom puree and cheese from fridge, followed by pineapple bread and butter pudding made with nice NDN's free eggs, yellow stickered sunflower seed bread, milk and cream, with sugar, sultanas and vanilla from the cupboard. My french stick is going to be pre-soaked before everyone elses to ensure it is soft enough to eat.

Not lit the fire yet.....might hold off and do it tomorrow! and then sort out my paperwork mountains with DD1 help and burn the stuff I really have no need of hanging onto
The cold never bothered me anyway

I didn't remove mine for ops.. I didn't remove nail polish either.. it has absolutely no effect whatsoever on the monitors.. OH's step mum is a theatre nurse and she said so.. they ask you to take polish off so they can see if you are turning blue.. but the monitor tells them that anyway.

I only did one lot .. My usual lady is back tomorrow so I'm off back to her on the 10th as I have appt for tomorrow already.

  • Not much done beyond dailies, but that's progress!

Another wet bed this morning means the washing is backing up again. 8 hrs of the paid work means minimal housework for me on Thursdays. Tea was a freezer special, I'd defrosted what I believed to be chilli, so I cooked rice. Turned out to,be meatballs....never mind, bit disappointing though. Luckily the kids eat at the childminders on a Thursday!

Teacher training day tomorrow and I will have 6 pesky smalls here ripping the place apart......

Morning all. Another 4am start - getting rid of spiders for DD. Don't I just know she is home!

No flying again this morning, another early start beckons at the paid stuff once I've finished breakfast.

    Have a great day everyone.
Spend less now, work less later.
  • Morning everyone

Yay the builder is finished. My walls, ceilings and all the tricky bits in between are now fresh plaster. When I am back from work this aft I can start cleaning down the floor and worktops and the kitchen will be usable again until stage 2 commences.

We are having paint traumas. OH wants to paint the kitchen a "colour" because our kitchen walls get grubby with the kids, the dog, cooking etc. Also the new kitchen is cream so he thinks it will be too bland. I like neutrals and would rather just stick with the Natural Hessian we had before then add some colour with other bits and pieces. Anyone got any advice?

    Morning all!

I didn't get to sleep until 12.30 and have been up since 4.45 :(

    However, I have already
    - made myself a cuppa
    - prepared all the food for this evening's meal (mainly roasted veg and jelly: my yellow-stickered pork chops will cook in the oven on top of the veg)
    - baked 2 large and 1 small carrot cake loaves, the large ones being for a local charity sale tomorrow - just to use up my left-over mascarpone and marzipan carrots for the topping!
    - cleaned out the kitchen drawers and washed the disgusting cutlery tray - many thanks to whoever recommended the @ston1sh all-purpose cleaner for 52p from @1di: it's got all the marks off :T
    - tidied the kitchen and lounge
    - rechecked the papers for today and corrected some minor mistakes in the Minutes of the last meeting (missing words!) before they are signed
    - made another cuppa for me and DH.

Must have my shower next, then eat breakfast, dust downstairs, deal with ***3*** molehills  and be ready to go at 9.00.

(((Hugs))), spoons and sticks as needed x
