I went back to work today. I was out the house from 8.30 until 3.30 then out from 4-5.45 at swimming. I am shattered but like Pigpen if I go to bed too early I wake up early.

DD1 has cleaned the main bathroom and filled up the airer with her and Ginge's washing. I hope it's dry tomorrow so I can get mine on the line.

Everyone is back to school. DS3 has twisted his ankle in tag rugby. He is so injury prone.

I'm going to continue with the great sort and clear out tomorrow. I've had to chuck out most of the contents of my fridge because it's not cooling properly. A friend has a number to give me tomorrow.

Wishing everyone a good sleep with minimum interruptions.

  • Awake early again grr...lots to do today to catch up as spent 3 days stripping paper. Every room needs attention but I'll do upstairs first as downstairs isn't too bad. Need to change morning routine to include hubby getting ready for work now and so he needs clothes ironing but trousers aren't dry yet.

    Good morning flyers.

The ginger ninja is trying to get me out of bed. If I don't he will do things to annoy me. So I will nip down and make a cuppa then he will settle again. One of his tricks is to swing off my dressing gown on the back of the bedroom door.

    Today List.
    Dailies
    My bedroom.

I'm at work at 4pm so will see what I can get done.

DDs Dad is here for a week. He lives down south. It's a bit surreal but DD said he wants to talk to me about his finances. Seems he has a fair bit to leave DD which will affect her benefits. Not sure why I come into it but will see what he has to say. Bearing in mind we split nearly 40 years ago and he married again. Though she died a while back.

Cat now balanced on the radiator so I'm off to make a cuppa and feed him.

    Dance mum Thank you.

MummyR3 hugs sweetie I know how awful that is. I slept until 5:10 but I had gone to bed earlier at 10:15 so not bad for me.

    Morning all

Mogs fed and last night's washing up put away.
    Couple of emails sent
Baguette cooked for DS1's packed lunch (his first day at the college part of his new job today so hope he likes it)
    Bit of recycling put out.

Just going to top up DS3's lunch money then make some scones quickly for the boys breakfast.

Walking this morning so I'll catch up with you all mid morning.

Boddy I hope the meeting with DDs dad goes ok

Morning all. I've been up a while and have already fed dogs and myself, am dressed and have fetched DD and her BF from the station after their holiday.

No flying for me this morning as the paid stuff starts at 8am today and I need to walk the dogs first.

    Have a great day everyone.

    Hi everyone

Sorry I haven't posted for a couple of days but I have tried to keep up with the thread and have updated the challenges list this morning. I was out at my new voluntary job most of yesterday, and DH was working on the railway; we both came home absolutely shattered and collapsed on the sofa after tea to watch Bake-Off (but only saw 1/3 of it because we both promptly fell asleep). It was only this morning that I realised that we should have been at a U3A Beetle Drive :o

Today I have urgent deadlines to meet: re-arranged Trustees Meeting tomorrow, followed by DS1 bringing his family here to tea). I need to do some proper flying today as well as completing all the remaining paper- and craftwork and deciding what the family will eat.

All the things off my previous lists have gone, apart from the resource boxes which are still w.i.p. - but the four that are most urgently needed ***must*** be finished today. I haven't been completely idle - finding good illustrations takes time, but I should be ready to print off the new resources after breakfast, then it's just the fun of laminating and cutting out :) If I have any time left, I want to use up the last of my ingredients and make a couple of carrot cake loaves for a friend's charity sale.

The mole has been active again, no doubt hunting the worms who came up after yesterday's downpour, I removed a big molehill from the lawn yesterday and have 2 more to deal with today  The garlic trick doesn't appear to be working very well: he just changes direction to avoid it! At this rate we shall soon have a labyrinth of mole tunnels under the whole lawn and I fear that one day the turf will collapse  However, every cloud has a silver lining and I am saving the fine earth from the molehills to top off my pots, rather than buying extra compost :money:

Continuing with the wildlife theme, there are more spiders' webs in the house than I would like, so I need to dig out Aunt Kate's head. For those of you who haven't been introduced, this is a lovely soft white cobweb brush-onna-bamboo-pole which my father named after his aunt's hairdo :rotfl: It's been in the family since well before I was born, so part of my heritage to pass on to my children one day.

Very pleased to hear that Wandering Ted is back home.
Dusty, did you get your blind fabric ordered? Glad to hear that your Mum is doing OK.
Skinty, hope you manage to enjoy some semi-solid food today.
How are things with you, Lame Wolf?

Ionafan, I have got 3 prices so far, all different, going to see if I can order it in JL tomorrow once in town and then make my decision - nearly there though.

Been on my walk with my friend so wide awake now, beautiful morning.

Just having a cuppa and a scone, taken one up to DS2 in bed too, and then I'm putting the WM on and doing an hour's flying before heading out with DS2 to get a few more bits.
