Had several Rover SD1's, 2600 and V8's. The last V8 SE had all the VP extra's. Back then i guess they were posh.

I got stopped a few times because i was only about 20 and looked younger.

Then i swapped the last one for a Rover 825. The one with the Honda engine and that was fast..
Auto but would wheelspin in 2nd if you floored it and would nudge 150mph.

I shouldnt mention the Sierra that had smoke pouring from it trying to keep me from passing... :X

  • Far from posh by any description, infact it probably couldn't be any less posh but one that I loved was my '89 Land Rover 90. I took it off road and spent longer fixing it than driving it but was a labour of love. Had to sell in the end to move house.

My current 1 series BMW is my fav though, as an ex demo it's loaded with spec an ive never seen another one like it. (Not saying it's a posh car BTW, just one I happen to really like)

Rover P5b coupe, 3.5 litre. It was 20 years old and had done less than 10,000 miles.
  • Toyota MR2 Mk1. Not posh by any means, but felt special sitting in the fighter cockpit style cabin.
The feisty little engine, sitting just behind the front seats, added to its appeal too.
Lack of weight at the front and rear wheel drive, ruined many a pair of underpants in the wet though

One of my current cars is probably the "poshest" i've owned if we are talking specs. It's a 2007 Alfa 159 JTS 3.2 Q4. It's the fully loaded version with the factory fitted Sat nav colour screen, car phone, full leather, parking sensors, headlamp washers. Cost new £30k. I bought it just over a year ago for £7,300.

Only downside is it costs £500 per year to tax it and it ain't that good on MPG. But it's an Alfa and it's a dream to drive.
