I had a VX 220 second hand for a few months, loved it and bought the turbo version brand new. Just a great car to drive, yoga to get into it and you soon became adept at missing pot holes;).

Eventually sold it as the last year I had it, it only came out 10 times. I have 5 dogs, so have always had a scruffy van that gets completely trashed and that's all I run around in now.
  • My current car which is a BMW M135i in Estoril blue. Goes like stink, sounds amazing and a great bargain for the power you get! Don't see many at all around my way and been asked about it many times in car parks!

I've currently got a Jag X-Type in British Racing Green. All of my neighbours thought it was my dads...

Nothing else has been particularly posh.

1996 Daimler Vanden Plas V12. Year old when I got it, like sitting in a gentlemen's club. However 8 MPG and rust showing after 3 years persuaded me to get rid.
  • It's not a big luxury barge, but my Boxster S. Had it over 10 years now. I will only change it when I no longer bend enough to get in it!

Compared to things like a Morris Marina and (various) Hillman Imps, it wins on poshest too :p

I had one of those. It probably ranks as the worst handling car I have ever owned. Worse than a 1950's Land Rover.

    Porsche 911.

Kept it for a year but got fed up worrying where I could drive or park it so sold it.

I really dont get people being concerned as to where they park their car... and as to being concerned where you drive it? Never even heard of that one before.

My "posh" car gets parked in exactly the same places where I parked my Mk1 Ford Fiesta GL which was only 3 months younger than I was. Never had a problem bar one person that kindly went into the front wing and didnt stop/ leave details but I'd argue it got a lot less door opening dents in it.

I drive it to the station, supermarket, shopping centre, airport and wherever else I need to go (obv without too much luggage :rotfl:). Park it in any space thats wide/ long enough for it.

2 routes to work, one via very poor surface country lanes with very tight passing points. If traffic jams then it is best option.

Not the sort of road I'd want to take an expensive car with very low sports suspension down that I wanted to avoid repairs on.

Local car park in rough area, not somewhere I'd want a car that stands out to be left if I wanted paint to remain undamaged.

Maybe others are less bothered about cars but when it was immaculate I didn't want the risk of lots of unnecessary costs. At least with an older car neither of those are an issue and I have no worries where I leave the car now.
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.
