I've never owned an expensive car but the two cars that have turned heads were my Ford ka back in 1998 when there weren't that many around and my current 2012 MX5 when it has the lid off.

My 'Poshest' was probably also my cheapest: £700 worth of BMW 328i Estate. Such a good car though, ran it for 18k miles over two years and it still drove well. Sold it for what I paid too. It just had a nice, solid feel, good toys, was fast enough and was nice to work on.
  • My poshest car was a top spec motor well past its prime. It was a banger but a nice banger. Range rover voguse se.

Even though i've had various other car brands of varying prices up to and including an X5 @ £51,000 this is probably the "poshest" car i've owned to date

Its a 2003 new model Jag XJ 3.0 SE, with full pale grey leather. Its the shape they made up to 2009 so with that colour combo it looked a lot more than what i paid for it (£1800 through a trade contact).

Real sense of occasion driving it, absolutely wonderful to drive. Had bought it as sort of a weekend car, but didnt end up keeping it that long - i stuck it online for £3295 just chancing my arm and it sold in a matter of days.... :(

Will have another at some point!

    Porsche 911.

Kept it for a year but got fed up worrying where I could drive or park it so sold it. Replaced with 12 year old Golf with 200k miles for £700 and use rest of money for a house.

Nice to have done but won't again.

As others have said, it all depends on your definition of posh.

In the past (in no particular order) I've had Ford Fiesta's, Escorts, Cortina's, and Granada's (inc Cossies). I've also had a twin turbo Jag, Pontiac Trans Am, Nissan 200SX Turbo, Nissan Skyline, couple of 4x4's (proper ones that is) and several Mercs/Beemers.

My current 4 wheel ride is an E92 325i Coupe with the full M-Sport pack and the missus has a Grand C-Max, but I wouldn't say any of them fall in to the posh car bracket.

My mate has one of them, it's a 911 twin turbo that's also known as the 996.
He paid 28K for it on an 03 plate about 9 months ago, and apparently they now go for £30K
By all accounts they are good for 192mph, and having been out in it with him I have to say I believe it completely.
Understeer is when you hit a wall with the front of your car
Oversteer is when you hit a wall with the back of your car
Horsepower is how fast your car hits the wall
Torque is how far your car sends the wall across the field once you've hit it

Husband has a Bentley T and Vanden Plas 4R in storage and runs a Range Rover 4.6 HSE. I prefer my '95 Punto 90ELX !
  • Either the 1.8 Vectra C or the Mondeo TDCI I bought back in 2009.... Its hard to decide

On a serious Note... I've never done Posh... Most of my vehicles are bought for a purpose I'm not interested in what people think if I want it I'll have it.... I'd run round in a £200 Shitter if it'll pull a plant or Livestock trailer... Or cover 40k+ Miles a year for my day job....
