    Just a few questions.

Anyone got this deal without getting on contract?

Or get any other special deal or discount.

I've been with AOL since 2001 and am OUT of contract so hope to use this to my advantage.

Just wondered what I should be haggling for?

    Any ideas?

    Cheers

Forget the laptop, just sign up for AOL for £9.99 for the first six months, then £14.99 afterwards for their unlimited Platinum package. If you have AOL Talk as well, then the cost is £9.99 for both for however long you keep them. Just ring them up and tell them you're paying too much, and they'll offer you this. Plus, they sent me another free Netgear wireless router, even though I already had one.

You should be able to get the Platinum package for £9.99. There are no download limits on it either. Ring up member services and simply ask them for the best deal they can do to stop you moving elsewhere.

For anyone that's unsure about how the laptop works, and wants the full user manual for the laptop, here's how to find it:

Click Start > Help and Support, then Dell EDocs. Then select System Documentation > Dell Owners Manual.

    Hope this helps.

I ordered the basic laptop with aol and find it to be quite slow on just web pages etc. Its ok when one page is open but when its two or three it struggles. Anyone else have this problem. (I was wondering if it was down to the mcafee security pre installed or is the laptop just slow)????
  • Add some RAM :-)

How many days after you ordered did you receive the laptop.

I really want to order this, but when I see CPW written on top of the order page,I fear that I might never get it.

Also, when did you order AOL BB - initially when the offer came in Sep 07 or recently??

I ordered in september shortly after the offer launched. I migrated to aol on the 26th of september and recevied my laptop on the 12th of October. I have to say it was mainly hassle free.

Does anyone know if you can install extra ram to these laptops and how much it would cost?
  • Aol sent letter last monday saying that should recieve easy install pack with router in a few working days, but hasnt came yet:confused: anyone know how it arrives? like royal mail van, with normal post etc
