Worth noting that only one of the memory slots is easily accessible !!

I used to repair laptops and the novice would not be able to replace both memory sticks themselves as the second one is hidden away requiring some dismantling of the laptop.

Crikey - what amazing non-user-friendly design.
Didn't even think to check on that.
Yes one needs to get under the keyboard...

See the messages above however about some technical dexterity for fitting it.

Not sure I'll be getting my laptop as my first 5 days of AOL broadband after MAC'ing to them have been TERRIBLE.

Synchonising about 10% faster than my old ADSL provider, but only getting around 10% of the usable throughput speed - ALLEGEDLY because my a/c is shown as a "migration" a/c because I once had an AOL dialup a/c (over 18m ago) and THAT dead a/c has been ressurrected and is being "migrated" to ADSL - allegedly will all go non-pear-shape after 7 days.

Somehow I'm not sure I believe them so may well end up cancelling within my 7 working days (mind you still havent had the free/supported modem/router/WAP) - argh :(

I think it's like the PS3, it has an online instruction manual.

If you're used to XP, it'll be reasonably intuitive. It's a little different, but the basics are the same.

The booklet you get is basically a list of phone numbers, and the fold-out sheet just shows what the buttons do, and how to turn it on.

If you get stuck, message me and I'll try to help you out.:j

  • Thanks. I've found it fairly easy to use so far - it just seemed odd that it didn't come with any instructions, so I wondered if something was missing. An online manual wouldn't be much use if you can't get online...
