Exactly, there not gonna ask for it back
Not in this throw away society.

I doubt I would cancel anyway its been great so far, nice steady connection. Not blazingly fast when all the kiddies get on after school but then you get that with any ISP.

The laptop is an incentive, not part of the contract or so they told me, if I move house for example there not gonna spit their dummy out and demand it back.

what do u think would happen if u move ur change house but move 2 a house that already has AOL broadband in the same name as the new 1 thats been set up in a different house to get the free laptop on a different number?

So, we know that, of all the people who signed up for this offer, 5 have actually got their laptop (in this thread, anyway). Am I the only one that's feeling a little annoyed? Or am I just being impatient? It has been 27 days since I signed up, after all.

HI Loz, are you sure on Monday? They told me despatch was Monday. I'm ver excited too. Were you nervous of the huge term contract?

I wasn't too nervous about it really because I've always been with BT and I've never had any problems with the service...hopefully that will continue! I've received my wireless router now and I'm just waiting for the laptop to be delivered, should be tomorrow fingers crossed. Have you had yours yet?

No I haven't got mine yet, that's why I'm trying to see if it's a few people who are laptop-less, or if it's a widespread problem. If it's widespread, AOL could have a problem....

While there's nothing specifically mentioned in the T&Cs for the laptop, the AOL account itself notes:

"If you cancel your AOL Access Account, you must pay immediately any outstanding balances, including but not limited to (i) any charges owed as a result of your AOL Access Account being cancelled or terminated within any minimum term contractual period you may have entered into; and (ii) any reasonable charge imposed on us by any third party (such as for example but not limited to BT) in order to disconnect you from our service, up to a maximum of £5."

Which basically reads like: "You cancel within the 24 months, we charge you for the 24 months".
