Free Laptop with AOL now! (merged)

I've been with AOLuk (know carphone warehouse) for years and years...and guess what, i've never had any trouble with them,(touch wood)
I signed up for the laptop deal as soon as Aol told me about this offer as it would only be costing me a couple of extra quid a month,( that and the fact my old laptop is on it's last legs).
Anyway, to answer the origanal question, i signed up, recieved the netgear modem router with-in a fortnight and am now expecting the laptop to arrive on Monday or tuesday of next week.
(The laptop is dispatched from CPW 3-5 days after you've completed your 'cooling off' period).
I'll keep you informed as to when/if i get it.

well, just to let you all know, my sisters laptop didnt come yesterday. she ended up phoning them and was on for over half an hour arguing about it. the guy she eventually spoke to said there was no definite timescale to give about delivery, this after she has been told 2 weeks on the day she ordered it, then it should be here within the week, and then told it should have been yesterday!! The guy she spoke to said that none of them knew when the laptops were gonna be delivered and admitted that my sis had been lied to on every occasion :eek: she wasnt happy as you can imagine!!

Same problem here too.....I went to carphone warehouse yesterday and they called AOL for me in the store and I was shouting in the store down the phone and everything "Do not put me through to a 3rd person"..They must of thought I was a mad woman...

Hi moosetastic,I had exactly the same reponse from CPW and AOL and that was Thursady last week. Originally when I ordered mine I was told Tuesday this week it would all be up and running and its now Saturday and so far nothing not even the router!I have to pay for the next month of dial up connection next week and still havent been told when the £19.99 will come out of my account. I have no password and screen name as yet and the very real possibility of paying for two AOL accounts. I feel like I should cancel as Im not feeling very confident about this offer now. Glad to hear someone has their laptop!!!

spderman...as soon as u sign up to aol and uve got ur confirmation, ring them up and get ur screen name and u'l be able to get free dial up connection with aol until ur broadband is enabled.

it uses a 0808 number which is free from BT line

I'm just wondering if anyone (except for money_saving_jamie) has actually recieved their laptop yet.
I get the feeling I could be waiting until :santa2: for it.

You wont have to wait til xmas...i got an email from CPW yesterday and its got the trackin number for the laptop...and going thru city link its at the brand and will be delivered on monday...yay!!

except no1 wil be in on monday to collect...hopefully they'l leave it with my nxt door neighbour!

Did you ask them for the tracking number or did they just send it without being promted ?

Has anyone any experience of using Redten Internet it seems they have a free laptop with unlimited internet for £17.99..........i tried to get the aol one because i am out of contract now but in my area it is £29.99 so alot more and a two year contract.....any feedback on redten would be much appreciated as i am seriously considering changing from aol to them thanks (just read t and c looks like its a 3 year contract) not so keen now..
