I believe the 9.99/14.99 6/24m offer is actually only for a 10GB usage and not the 40GB usage in the free laptop deal. That difference may not affect you adversely but it is a significant difference for some users/usage.

I have signed up to the AOL laptop deal with the intention of selling the laptop for as much as possible to offset the contract costs. I have yet to receive the laptop but one thing I will say is that with the AOL software and the new netgear wireless router going wireless is absolutley idiot proof.
I struggled to get my existing laptop and desktop to communicate wirelessly and had practically given up. With the new router and software it's all done automatically.
Back to the laptop deal I went for the £35 all inc. calls package ( apparently I have to pay an additional £10 because I live in the middle of nowhere )
I was originally on AOL Gold and paying them £29 a month. Now for £35 I should save £40 a quarter on my phone bill and I hope to get between £300 - £400 for the laptop. I have paid less for broadband with BT but every night at 6 o'clock it would grind to a halt- AOL is far superior IMO. I had intended to sell the wireless router alaso BNIB but it makes going wireless so simple I am now just going to use it.

Thanks to reading other posts, (I have been with AOL for over 2 years). I asked them AOL for my MAC code. When they asked me why I was leaving, I told them there were better offers elsewhere.

They then offered me a FREE laptop via Carphone Warehouse:j
Plus an up-grade on speed :j
plus a cheaper monthly rate than I am paying now!:j


So all AOL users, not in contract ask for your mac code and get a FREE laptop!:j


In 18 months time when I am out of contract I will do the same again!

Sorry if this has been asked a million times but I saw somewhere that AOL is giving away a free laptop with its Wireless plus broadband package...
Is this true and if so is it still available and is it a good deal?

saw it in cpw the other day as well, if you dont have a laptop it seems like a damn good deal, the laptop though a celleron is actually pretty reasonable speced and £20 a month including line rental if i read it correcrly basicly means you get broadband for £10 a month reasonable download cap and a free laptop.

i really cant see broadband getting much cheaper, theres a certain overhead just to maintain the lines run the billing and pay for bandwidth so in 2 years time it might be down to £6 a month pluss line rental who cares.

I just went to have a look at carphone warehouse and I think that you pay the BT line rental on top of the base price, you also have to have their talk package and sign up for 24 months. This would have been ok but when I did a check on my phone number for the service it turned out I would have had to pay an extra £10 a month on top for some reason... So although on the face of it it sounded good, for me it may not be worth it for a spare laptop.

redteninternet.com are still in the market for free laptops I believe.

They work via BT Wholesale so will be available just about everywhere. £17.99/month is their cheapest free laptop price.

Hi folks

just been onto AOL to try and wangle a free laptop, i'm on the platinum package already and only pay £9.99, they said they would give me the laptop however the package would be £19.99.

has anybody else managed to get the laptop at a lower price than £19.99,
