We tend to get one round at about 11am of parcels (seeing as we get 2 lots of business sundries delivered to our house) and then another lot of the letters at 12:30pm.
I can't say I've ever noticed if its a different postie, but I imagine it is, and none of these parcels are send SD either, as they are mostly small ebay orders.
As long as it gets there, I don't care if it arrives in the afternoon. If theres something I want urgently to arrive, then it'l be something I've paid Next Day delivery for, which is usually with a courier anyway.

My OH is a postie and some days is still out delivering at 4pm and gone. Staff cuts, increased round size and the ever increasing amount of internet shopping parcels all contribute to this.

Some days his transit sized van is packed to the back doors with parcels which is a far cry from the traditional view of a postman's bag full of normal sized letters.

He doesn't have time to speculate what's in each envelope or parcel or he'd never get finished.
