Post Office/Postman GRRRRRR

Options
I will keep this as brief as possible, but i am
absolutely fuming with the post office and my
local postman. I have lived in my home for 23
years and have seen my post being delivered
later and later and later as time goes by. Now
it has reached the stage where my letters
sometimes arrive as late as 2pm!
I challenge the postmen about this
frequently and they say it is nothing to do with
them and it is decision of the post office and
many deliveries are now made later.

is it just coincidence that after i told the
current postman that 2pm was too late to be
delivering the post as i am sometimes not in to
receive special deliveries, which could be
important, suddenly i have had important
letters containing vouchers and other things
of value go missing?

so now i have an unreliable postal service and a
potman who is a thief. great service NOT!

    Do you mean Royal Mail?

Please don't accuse your postman of being a thief without any proof. That would be defamatory.
  • If it helps its got later where I live too. Its close to around 12pm now. I don't think its because the postman is having a lie in everyday.

If you want to make a complaint about Royal Mail services them call up their Head Office or their customer services, theres no point griping to your post man who may be as annoyed as you are about the fact he is delivering so late.

If the special deliveries are so important then you will just have to wait in. All special delivery comes with two options, before 9am and before 1pm, so they wont be coming at 2pm. If they are, again, speak to customer services. And if they are so important you will have to pay the extra for before 9am.
  • Mine has got later too, I think they are delivering all special delivery items first now as i had a next day delivery item the other day that was before 1pm and the postman knocked at the door gave me my post then drove off, So i am guessing they are probably getting more special delivery items and to ensure they arrive on time deliver them first.

Also i would like to say i think you are being really harsh accusing your postie of being a thief with no proof.

You also have to bear in mind that internet sales/deliveries have added massively to the work load of the postman so times for deliveries will of course be extended.

    Yup,things change. Now
it has reached the stage where my letters

If someone works 9-5,is all their work done by 3pm?

Would you 'challenge' a 9-5 worker why they were working past 3pm?
frequently and they say it is nothing to do with
them and it is decision of the post office wrong company again and
many deliveries are now made later.

is it just coincidence that after i told the

delivering the post Based on what? as i am sometimes not in to
receive special deliveries, Well SD items are delivered before 1pm,so whats your point?which could be
important, suddenly i have had important

Well you can never trust those potmen. Do you think they might get round the delivery quicker if not 'challenged'?

Sd items have to meet the 1pm delivery standard. Given staff work past 1pm. They need to work out how to deliver those SD items before 1pm.
Either by rejigging their delivery or 'cutting off' on troute to meet that target.

Since when has Royal Mail promised that normal post will be delivered at a set time ?

I don't worry as long as mine arrives.

Isn't this one of the OP's complaints? The post doesn't always arrive anymore!

Couldn't care less when mine arrives as long as it does. Typical delivery time is about 2p.m. Very reliable, very friendly postman.

I'm sure your postman isn't stealing your post however he must wish he could give your house a wide berth judging by your comments to him and your baseless accusations.
