Mines tends to be around 13:30, never has it been before midday. Sometimes it can be after 16:00. I think the op has a bad attitude complaining to the postman about it, it's obvious it's staffing cuts from above.0 -

I will keep this as brief as possible, but i am
absolutely fuming with the post office and my
local postman. I have lived in my home for 23
years and have seen my post being delivered
later and later and later as time goes by. Now
it has reached the stage where my letters
sometimes arrive as late as 2pm!
I challenge the postmen about this
frequently and they say it is nothing to do with
them and it is decision of the post office and
many deliveries are now made later.
is it just coincidence that after i told the
current postman that 2pm was too late to be
delivering the post as i am sometimes not in to
receive special deliveries, which could be
important, suddenly i have had important
letters containing vouchers and other things
of value go missing?
so now i have an unreliable postal service and a
potman who is a thief. great service NOT!
It's ridiculous to 'challenge' the postman, do you think he sits twiddling his thumbs until 2pm just to purposely delay delivering your letters?
I think custardy has done a pretty good job of pointing out the mistakes in your rant.
If you really believe your postman is stealing your letters, then complain to Royal Mail (geddit? Royal Mail, not the Post Office).
But if I were you, I'd think very carefully how to word your complaint because if I were a RM manager and you accused one of my staff of stealing without having any proof, you'd be in deep s**t.0 -
I didn't know this was a thing. I live in the country and our post often arrives as late as 2pm. Has done for as long as I can remember. There are worse things to stress about.0

We live on the outskirts of the city and our post (when I'm home to receive it) normally arrives around 2.30 although it has been as late as 4pm on some occasions. Caused a mild panic from my Dad one year as he's sent my birthday present insured and Guaranteed next day before 1pm. He phoned me at about half one and it hadn't yet arrived but was showing as delivered on Royal Mails track and trace. Postie eventually turned up at about 2.15 with it and no explanation as to why it was after 1pm or why they had registered it as being delivered before he's even got to me. Should have complained about it really as he's paid for guaranteed before 1pm but I don't think either of us could be bothered with the hassle!Everyone has a dark side... apparently mine is called Harold?!? :huh:0

I've always taken the attitude that the post will arrive when it arrives. Not sure why anyone would think it's their business to intefere0

Really why would it matter what time when your post arrives, unless you have no hobbies? I call troll..
It matters if you expect to receive parcels or signed for items that you don't want to miss.
Some while back the RM told us that they were cutting second deliveries but that in future the post would arrive at a consistent time.
The certainly cut the second delivery but our mail arrives at any time from 10:00 to 14:00.
They have now made the pickup time 9:30 so deliveries get later and collections get earlier. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -
My post arrives between 10.30 and 11.30 am my postman is absolutely lovely.
I wish my bills would go missing :rotfl:
As has been mentioned.
I think if all I had to worry about was what time the post arrived I would count myself very lucky.Spelling courtesy of the whims of auto correct...
Pet Peeves.... queues, vain people and hypocrites ..not necessarily in that order.0 -
My post never arrives before 11.30, and has been as late as 3.30-4pm at times. I really dont care what time my post arrives, as long as it does. I'm at work anyway so it doesnt affect me in the slightest
SD's around my way are done on a completely separate delivery by a completely different person
I would be a bit more careful about making wild accusations though, especially as you dont have proof.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards. My postman sometimes comes at 3.30pm. He has a large area and in a van, so the SD and heavier stuff is delivered first driving round in the van. Then he does his normal letter delivery round on foot.0
