Monday morning.
Well the child benefit hit my account this morning and its already been stashed in the savings pot - however I have made a payment against my Barclaycard in order to get the spend level down (currently at 18% interest) and i will be balance transferring part of the husbands capital one balance which is at 34.5% once thats at a decent level. good news is balance transfers sit at 0% for 16 months so it makes sense. I will probably have that card more or less maxxed out in order to get everything on the lowest interest so I can use the money better. Ive got to be sensible. Nothing else to report today. No bills paid off, haha.
The next bill on the list is the husbands capital one card.

part of taking your eyes off the ball and being ill means you can sometimes be taken advantage of.
Currently my tenant is £810 in arrears with her rent. I allowed her time to get her benefit claim sorted - so she could pay half rent til then but I could really use that money and I am feeling aggrieved. There was a payment missed completely before Christmas as well, so it bumped it up. Currently they are paying back the arrears in 10 or 20 pound a week lumps - however the request for housing benefit had not gone in and the backdated benefit was refused.
That 800 pounds would pay for my eldests wedding dress outstanding payments. I am buying that for her. Shes paying for most of the rest of her wedding herself.
I have tried and tried to help out. So I contacted a local councillor. Shes had the response that the tenant has failed to engage about the backdated payments. She does have a guarantor, so what should I do? Should I ask them to increase the payments to clear the backpayment or should I be taking it further. I let it go as I was ill, and at school with her mum who is her guarantor. I am a stupid woman and feel bereft.Trying to shift that debt!0 -

I am due the rent on a Sunday. Last week I had to go collect it on the Monday as no one had called, and instead of an agreed 120 it was 110. This week, no one was available yesterday, so I had arranged for it to be dropped at mine this morning. No one has appeared so I have messaged and been informed that no one is sure what the arrangements are.
I am in absolute despair as I was trying to be a good person.Trying to shift that debt!0 -
Send her a letter before action and make sure to include her guarantors name as jointly and severly liable.
The shock of a potential Court claim with the possibility of an attachment of benefits order for the tenant, or attachment of earnings for her guarantor may well have the desired effect.Never Knowingly Understood.

Thanks - I will give them to the end of today to pay the rent and then I will open discussion about making the payments up, and see whats said. I will not let it get any further into debt though. This is it!
In other news, I updated my snowball and have clawed a month back. DFD is now November, 2019. If the plots and schemes and balance transfers come off I will claw that even further in.

Ok tenants have paid 100 pounds this week and I have the undertaking that this will be paid on time. However, its short from the agreed 120 which covers the arrears.
I have mentioned it and they have said it will resume next week, if it does not, then I will need to sort it out.
They pay in cash, so that money goes into the cash pot. We use that for coal and to pay after school clubs and the like.
Paid a further £30 off the barclaycard. Hopefully, there will be a balance transfer offer when im ready for it, if not I will pay evolution which is the next most expensive and can reduce the rate on that money from 26.6 to 18.9.%
In the meantime I will keep on keeping on.
Absolutely full of cold. Its rotten. Bleugh.Trying to shift that debt!0 -
