Morning! Another 30 pounds off the barclaycard. Realised I had missed logging a payment in the snowball so fortuitously the DFD is now AUGUST 2019.
I am not settling for that though, haha.
Today is my hair appointment.
I know its not MSE - but I havent been since June. My hair is a right state. And the grey? Im more badger than a badger. Plus, the daughter is getting married in September, and I am fed up with being brown haired. So I am starting to go lighter. After the past few months, I really need it.
However there are always issues when i make any appointment.
DD2 declared on the way to school today (I was taking her as we have a landy and my dad was snowed in) that she was staying behind tonight at school, to do revision.
I said, ok, well, thats fine what time are you finishing?
She said half 4.... my appointment is 415, my husband is in a meeting 4 - 430 and if my dad is still snowed in - I sent her the bus time and where to get it from.
Her forward planning is rank and the amount of guilt she is trying to make me feel is unreal!!!Trying to shift that debt!0 -
Oh and nothing as yet from the tenant...Trying to shift that debt!0

Hiya SBO see we have similar levels of debt, mind if I follow you - your pay off a bit and recalculate the DFD is an inspiration! grrh to tenant. They don't seem to be coping, whatever help you've tried offering them. Hard to do but do you know guarantor well enough to point that out and ask them to rally round? Bit of a stressful embarrassing conversation, but if not they may not realise you're going to end up with no option but to look at ending the tenancy.
So impressed with how you're doing - don't want tenant to get in your way
DMI have borrowed from my future self

No problem just follow away! I know there issues but I will contact the guarantor as well, it will really be a bizarre conversation but needs must.

Hair is nice- had a call this morning on the work mobile though and had to sort a problem out, early start...
Been up since 5 ish haha. Taking a break now, to pay 31.73 from the barclaycard. No further claw back on the debt free date though, sadly. However am not beating myself up over it, seeing as though its been pulled in by 5 months in a week ish.
Plans for this weekend are to do some ebay, some cleaning and some wine drinking, and general family time and a roast dinner on Saturday. Might go back to bed for an hour or so now, seeing as though I was so rudely awakened!Trying to shift that debt!0 -
Tenant didnt respond yet either. UrghTrying to shift that debt!0

That's a great way to show your progress - so do you just put minimum payments in the snowball calculator showing potential DFD then as you put extra payments in it brings the date forward? Very motivating!
You are doing great - bringing DFD forward by 5 months in 1 week is amazing!!!
Nightmare with tenant though! hope you get it sorted soon!0 -
The affordability I put in the snowball is purely the minimum payments plus £20 or so. Until I have my savings pots up and running properly I am not going to over commit as this was our downfall when I got so ill.
There was nothing to fall back on but the cards and it was too easy. Then we missed out on better 0% deals and the like as the spending on the cards was wiping out the payments we were making.
Then, the backside fell out of it all and we had to get a payday loan.
So thats why we are establishing the pots, moving balances to cheaper interest rate cards and wangling things to get the interest on the cheapest rates possible so hopefully we can get those dates down quickly.
Also, we will be paying more than that as affordability allows, meaning that the dates will tumble.
It stops the whole issue of not meeting targets and the resulting misery you feel if you have a bad month. I just have to keep it going

Got a meeting with the tenant at 6 tomorrow. I'll also be collecting rent then. Got some eBay to do today and paying my mam back an instalment on what I owe her. Got 3 weeks to payday. Need to make sure we are in a good place for then.Trying to shift that debt!0
