i spose i'll have to write my cards in the next week or so, (I hate it, such a chore), then the wrapping will probably get done the weekend before xmas.

I did it! All cards written, even the ones for the neighbours which I normally write on Christmas Eve and sneak round after dark putting them through doors hoping no one sees me feeling guilty because I left it so late. Thank you for this thread, it has made me get some of the things I hate out of the way.

    Well......

It is well and truly xmas in my world now.

Obviously with this being a hate xmas thread i'd assume no-one has watched any of the crazy programmes where people compete to have the most decorated house (thing the film Deck the halls or national lampoons xmas).........

This is basically where I live. It is truely hilarious, and each year it gets more and more. They are all in competition with each other.

This year, one has put up a tree outside the door nearly the height of the upstairs windows, all lit up bla bla bla....

3 days later....next door to him has put one up that is bigger.....and with 3 times the lights on... :rotfl: :rotfl:

Last night, i'm not sure if it was the wind that woke me.....or the flashing blue...then red..then pink...then green..then all colours at once flashing through my window...

Lots have taken a bashing with the recent weather.....santas were upside down and swinging in the wind....streams of bulbs flying off trees..... the reindeer on the roof of the house opposite is still there though.......no clue how...

The first year living here I woke up around 5pm to get up for night shift, to find the bathroom a glowing blue colour from lights. I thought I had woken up on a different planet.

I have eaten all my cherry brandy chocolates as compensation...:D.

    Rant over.
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.

    Actually - it's not.

You do know you are posting on a Money Saving website, don't you?
And that Martin Lewis (founder of the website & editor) urges people not to get into debt to pay for Christmas?

There is a heavy discount because of Christmas time, think about Black Friday, Boxing day sales. Without Christmas I doubt there was such a heavy discount

Also Because I will have a nice break, where I could travel ...

Nice decoration in the city with Christmas market ....

So sorry I am not with you and I love Christmas ...
