And the description on the website says Platinum Lifestyle from May 2015

    Apologies...yes it does...now.
    I guess they're running scared!

    It's just changed today.
Not sure why....maybe they've had a backlash from customers with spines.
Not sure what Platinum 'lifestyle' is though?....never heard of that!

And those customers would now be happy that Thomson has simply slapped a different label on the hotel once again, even though nothing about the hotel has changed? If so they may have spines but they sure aren't too bright.

No, it hasn't - I looked at the site when you named the hotel yesterday - it stated from May 2015 then.

I have just had a look at the criteria for platinum lifestyle - it says hotels must be 4 or 5 star and 90% of customers must rate it good or very good. This is the exact same criteria for a la carte. The only differences i could see was you get free select your seat and a private taxi transfer with al a carte holidays.
Maybe riu have increased their prices and thomson have just decided they don't want to include those 2 things for free.

Don't know how i missed this thread until now, it's hilarious!
why bother emailing, writing to travel agents and customers. Why re-print brochures?
Because of people like you who might get upset if they find out it's changed and they have not been told and throw their toys out the pram. They won't reprint a brochure especially for a change like this either.

Personally i choose a hotel because of the hotel, not because of the label on it which incidentally means nothing really. If Thomson A la Carte hotels were the best of the best they would all be 5 star, not 4 or 5 star. Quote ''Thomson A la Carte holidays showcase our most luxurious hotels. Everything about these 4 and 5-star properties is first-class''.

Also, it does not have all of their most luxurious hotels in it anyway. Prime example of this is the Premier Le Reve.
