I've pre-ordered from Apple (64gb iphone 6) to pair with my Three oneplan sim only (£18) - Totally monthly cost spread over 24 months will be £43.80

Cheapest new 4g contracts over 24 months:

Voda: £48.88 (4gb of data) CPW cheaper than voda direct
Voda:£43.88 (1gb of data) CPW cheaper than voda direct
    o2: £46.34 (2gb of data) CPW
    o2: £49.25 (5gb of data) CPW
    ee:£49.82 (4gb) P4U or CPW
    three: TBA

CPW and P4U both appear cheaper than using Voda or EE direct.

I am managing to screw up these figure lol. Pretty sure they are right now. Minutes usually unlimited or 1000 with unlimited texts.
  • How many mins and texts for the £41 EE contract?

With the iPhone it's always been better to buy outright, I've bought them that way every year and use them with sim only. It's a large saving over the year or 2, when compared to contract.

My sim only on Three costs me £15 for 2000 minutes, 5000 texts and unlimited data.

how you get that deal on 3 d123?

i pre ordered handset off apple this morning and signed up for three PAYG - 3000 txts, 300 mins and unlimited data. probably wouldn't use the minutes anyway and definitely not the texts, just curious how you receive considerably more

Its a legacy tariff (one plan)

cool4kaz, did you get that deal instore as the website says the phone (64gb) is £139.00 upfront or if you referring to the 16gb version that is still £50 upfront.

It's the 16gb phone, I registered interest with them yesterday and
They rang me this morning. There is a similar plan on Voda phone
Which is £43.50 but their signal is none existent in my area so stuck with ee.
  • I'm looking at the Vodafone 4G plan that has 10GB of data, unlimited minutes and unlimited texts for £48.50/month - handset is free.

You get £5/month off the price when you send them your old iphone - plus you get Spotify premium free for 24 months. I already pay for this just now at £9.99 a month - so I figure it effectively works out at £33.51 per month. I don't actually get 4G where I live so it will be 3G, but it works out much cheaper for me than the 3G contracts as I use a lot of data!
  • Aaaargh, I'd convinced myself to get a Galaxy S5 next week but shiny gizmos and man maths have taken over my idle brain tonight :)

I can get NHS benefits, O2 understandably exclude the iphone 6 however Vodafone seem to be cool about this, Im also a Spotify addict so can deduct an automatic £10 per month as Voda bundle it with their 4G tariffs

Im looking at the Vodafone website:

    64Gig iphone 6 for 79.99 then 53.50 a month
Minus 20% then another tenner off = 33 quid a month

Best S5 tariff Ive found would be an equivalent of £27 a month after Spotify and Quidco from an intermediary

Aaaargh, Ive never owned an iphone and wasnt about to start however Im now tempted

Is the Vodafone 20% as good as it appears?

    Cheers

Well £33 a month recurring sounds alright to me for the new iPhone man. Let's assume it's 24 month?
    So 33 x 24 + 79.99 = £871.99 paid in total for phone & service
That phone costs £619 up front so effectively over the term you're paying £252.99 (or £10.54 a month) for the mobile service. Sounds like a good deal to me.
