PS
I just used the S4 as an example, the S5 (which is even more feature packed) is still £120 cheaper than the iPhone 6.
Some of the price difference is the Apple Factor, and some of it is the fact that the materials used in the iPhones are generally speaking of a higher quality than the cheap plastic Samsung generally tends to use. Other high end Androids such as the HTC One M8 and the Sony Z3 are more than the Samsung due to their metal and glass construction.0 -

Ok, but you do realise that's a whole different debate

That cheap plastic (which is actually polycarbonate) allows me to carry out simple tasks like changing the battery, you won't be doing that on a phone that is part metal constructed (at least, not very easily).AlecEiffel wrote: »Some of the price difference is the Apple Factor, and some of it is the fact that the materials used in the iPhones are generally speaking of a higher quality than the cheap plastic Samsung generally tends to use. As for the actual components, I doubt there is any difference at all in reliability, build quality, etc.
As far as "toughness" goes, I have never done any kind of intentional testing to see which is the strongest (although I do believe the Galaxy S2 was proven outright to be stronger than the iPhone), but I do know my S4 spends 5 days a week on building sites getting dropped, kicked around, generally covered in crap, and still works just fine without any blemishes at all.
It may well be the case that an iPhone is just as tough in the kind of environment I am in on a daily basis if I put it in a suitable cover (I currently use a 3rd party "S-View" jobbie), and they are certainly very nice to hold/use.
However as I said earlier, apart from the fact I can do whatever I want with an Android handset it's the price difference that is a fairly major deciding factor that keeps me firmly in the Samsung camp at this moment in time.Understeer is when you hit a wall with the front of your car

Seriously get the print outs of the iPhone 6 plus before pre0ordering it, its umm quite large.

And Im an iOS (and Android/RIM) developer
I personally wouldn't go for the plus as its too near the mini as a phablet and too far away from a phone which can be put in your pocket.
I've just made one out of cardboard and I'd really struggle with it.
Also, for those talking about existing sim-only deals, the iPhone 6 takes a nano-sim, not a micro-sim, so you'll have to deal with your carrier anyway.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -
F**k me that is huge, but on the plus side you can use it to inflict permanent brain damage on your mugger when he tries to steal it from you :rotfl:notanewuser wrote: »I've just made one out of cardboard and I'd really struggle with it.Understeer is when you hit a wall with the front of your car

I've pre-ordered the 64GB plus and will combine it with my existing tesco sim only, unless theres a pay monthly offer (with a free phone) for £41.60 it wont be able to beat purchasing it outright.
Cant check deals on most websites due to the high traffic at the mo.0
