  • Well back from the lottie, and OH has gone to play bowls, a message left on the answer phone when we got back left him just over an hour to have lunch and get changed and off for a 2.30pm start.

Picked some more lettuce, have also dug the last shaw of the early spuds which do not seem to be as badly affected with the green as some of the others. Shallots a couple of bulbs of garlic , onions also found their way into my plaggy bag.

We took the car to see about getting an extra ciggy lighter fitted in the back for the electric cool box we have. Now we have sat nav we need an extra point..........£45, not bad it will mean that we can carry quite a lot of frozen food down with us when we go to VIas next summer, two nights in hotels are a bit dodgy......am going to try it out when we go down to Kent next month, will seal a cool box with ice blocks etc in and see what its like when we get back.

My friend in France has a calander on the wall, she is marking off the days already.

Right............now I need to loose 3 1/2 stone........I do not eat a lot of fat as you will see from my menus, but I hate exercise apart from gardening, all the work I have been doing at the allotment has not made any difference at all..........I cannot afford to go to a slimming club £5 a week is quarter of my weekly food budget...........I was thinking of seeing if there is an over 50's exercise class locally, I get most courses for free because we are on HB and CTB.............does anyone have any other suggestions..........I promise to take them all seriously!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!unless they involve swinging from the light fittings shouting GERONIMO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know I will never weigh 7st 10 again.........but to get under 10 st would be great..............
September grocery budget........trying for £80, not sure if I will make it though!!!!! I certainly did not last month, lost track of the final bill. Will do better this month honest.

    Tesco £57.13
    Petrol £10.00

well i think i am officially having the worst week of my life.im off work at the mo after injuring my back (at work) anyway, had to go to an appt with occupational health only to be fobbed off again and told i should not have been reffered there.

then yesterday took my pup to the vets (hes actually 1 next month but hes still my baby) he had ran into a stick last week and nearly impailed himself on it. we thought he was ok till a few days ago when this mad lump appeared on his chest.it grew ,so to be on safe side took him the vets .outcome he has had to go to the surgery this morning at 8am to have an operation to see if theres a bit of stick still in it.( £200 + which is marvelous as my pay dropped this month to half.thank god for insurance but when i rang that ,they said there is a delay of 4-8 weeks on claiming the money back.) *it doesnt rain but it pours * my heads that midered im not sure what to worry about first!
im sure it was friday the 13th last week, think im having a delayed reaction

if you go ino "MY EBAY" and click on items sold , there should be an option for you to send an invoice to your customers requesting payment.then wait for the customer to either pay by paypal or they will tell you if they will be sending out a cheque

Nice and sunny here to-day, between the showers, but very warm.

Went grocery shopping this morning as there Dunnes is the only place to get goat's milk yogurt and we have had none for a couple of weeks. Took OH and DGS1 with me and decided to visit the 'farmers' market' that I found last week. Looked at vegetables and fruit and main veggie stall was almost completely stocked by stuff from as far away as S.Africa, so moved away smartly. Got some nice-looking Wexford British Queens...my favourite early potato which I have never seen mentioned on here or other UK sites mentioning varieties of potato....maybe they are just found in Ireland, for which I can offer no explanation! I also bought from the same source some red gooseberries, which are delicious and which we don't have in the garden. Bought some Pecorino cheese, 3 muffins, half a kilo of mussels and two whole plaice and the total spend was €32.50! I was horrified and felt a bit ripped off when I discovered that the muffins were €2.00 EACH. But I can read and add, so it was totally my own fault...will be more careful in future.
By the time I left Dunnes I had spent €119.02, bringing my total spend to-day to €151.52...leaving me with €18.18 to feed us until the end of the month..it will be done, no matter who whinges about what we eat.

JackieO you are priceless! Can I give you a little hope on the hair front? When I was first ill last year my hair started to fall out in clumps and within a couple of months I was thinking that I was going to be bald...that's ok for OH, but not for me thank you. Would you believe when it started to grow it has become so curly that people are asking me if I've had a perm...I am delighted as it means that it never looks too bad as it tucks itself in, but I am afraid to go for a badly needed haircut in case it straightens again!

I seem to be waffling even more than usual to-day...big hugs to all in need or want, especially to those who are suffering mentally or physically.

Turned green at the thoughts of people going to Heligan and Edenproject...for some reason we never go on holiday to UK...weatherwise there is very little difference, DD2 lives in London and I am not big into cities. Will have to make an effort this year as I am a RHS member and would like to visit as many gardens as possible!

We have just had fregula with mussels and we are going out later to have dinner with my brother so my hours in the kitchen are limited to-day, would like to do something with the gooseberries for pudding...depends on my humour later.

Have decided that I will have to find a home for all my books, so may eventually get round to converting the loft over OH's storage shed...the building was originally part of the farmyard and is stone built...needs insulating roofwindow and some kind of heat and proper lighting rather than the single bulb that is up there now...so that is the next project, the house would have a lot more space in it if the books were gone.

    Have a good evening all,

    Marie

  • Evening everyone - the wanderer returns, for a little while at least. To be honest I have been too ashamed of being non-OS to show my face here for a while. I even have my eldest coming in and doing a full clean through for me once a week.

The good news is that I have been taken on permanently at my work with a small pay rise so all the sacrifices I have made have been worth it. I am still coming home every afternoon very tired and stressed but it's keeping the roof over our heads and the bills paid. I've paid off all my catalogues, my credit card is down to £300 and I already have next months bill money stored in the savings account. I just wish I had more energy to enjoy this new found wealth. I keep coming home with a headache which is very energy sapping.

DS won his school house prize and DD has started ballet lessons, that's actually very scary as after two lessons her teacher hauled me to one side and said she has the capability and talent to make it to the Royal Ballet school. I think I had better start saving now :(

The single life is good, I've had a few dates and really enjoyed myself but I'm not committing myself to anything at the moment, my whole life (and the childrens) seems so much better and fuller without a man around. I ate a whole tub of olives in bed last night and there was no one to complain :D

Well done Lil-me for such a sterling job with the Flylady thread.

    Back again

Moggins - congratulations it sounds fantastic, I know friends who have split up and take months and months to get their finances straight much less anything else.Youve had a major life change so I think you are doing amazingly well.

Was good and didnt have a lie down after all. Didnt get as much done as I would have liked but still got some stuff done.

Gonna have an early night- Spendaholics is back on telly tonight BBC3 at 9pm I beleive so will watch that and sky+ Truth Dare Kiss which I am really in to.

Just found out that my oh knows Lee Mead (the new Joseph) dad, they worked together for many years. I did route for him as thought he was good and was also from my old home town. Gonna try and get OH some dirty dancing tickets for his birthday though I would rather to Joseph - did see it many years ago when Jason Donovan was in it.

Anyway thats way too much waffling from me - going to go and have a surf.
