Lovely sunny day here, must not get distracted by ideas of gardening and get on with some serious flying!

    i hope everyone is well
hugs good wishes and positive vibes to all who need/want them
i hope ginger is still recovering well

strange bit of irony on friday one of the grandsons of my lovely neighbour bravely read out a poem at her funeral saying it was one his grandma had on her wall and had over time given each of her grandchildren their own copies of it and told them if they lived their lives by these words they wouldnt go far wrong. DH read it from the service sheet when i got home and said it was also the words from a song, we were sitting in the garden yesterday and 'you are a child of the universe' came on the radio along with the comment from the dj that at the time the lyrics were printed on what became a very popular poster.

on sept challenge news i spent most of the weekend sorting my thread stash and now have my dmc threads wound onto neat littler card bobbins and all in numerical order in proper storage boxes, the boxes they were in are going to the CS next weekend as i just didnt get on with that method of storage. lots more stuff is also going on the CS pile and i have a broken gazebo frame out for the scrapman, and a broken steamer and set of scales going to the tip. filled 5 more bags with conifer clippings ready for recycling

Thanks Dusty, I'm in but will be doing a lot of "off list" stuff as I have 2 paid work days this week and errands to run Friday as well as the livingroom to finish (which seems a never ending job right now!)

Ionafan - (In case you missed it on last weeks thread that I just posted) My September Challenge: My desk is up and there is stuff on it/in the drawers, but stuff that needs to go on the new bookshelves (like my printer) is stored on it currently so not quite using it for work yet ;) Plus most of my "office" is still in my bedroom waiting for the bookcases to be ordered/delivered :o They'll be ordered by Friday as I'm currently running my fridge & freeze contents down. Going from 2 larder sized ones to a combined, I daren't risk there being too much to put in the new one  I haven't had a combined one since 2008.

Bossy - Glad to hear you are home. Please rest!!

Monday DIY (lots of little jobs that'll take <5 min towards the end ;))
Gloss Paint touch up (by window, fire surround, meter cupboard, door frames)
Emulsion touch up (back radiator underneath, behind pipes on front wall, along edges throughout, by door where DD has rubbed it away when trying to clean some spillage up :()
    Seal along earth cable box
Fix wallpaper under window again  (only noticed it had come away last night)
    Radiator foil back
    Pipe cover back
Collapse my wardrobe (falling apart so FLING! :D)
    Chest of drawers upstairs
Order FF, bookcase, shelves (need to work out which bookcases & how many shelves to order)
    Other lampshade up
Deep clean floor to remove paint splashes
Rug out from understairs to be put back down
    Find sofa cover
    Put freezer back
    Put paint away understairs
Put as much DIY stuff away as possible under stairs.
    Other:
Pulled pork in SC (get wraps out of freezer for serving)
    Bath (before DD gets home)
    Change bed
Laundry (much later on in the day)

    Monday - Kitchen
    15 Minutes..
Clear and wipe the worksurfaces, only put back what belongs here
    30 minutes to spare..
Sweep and mop the floor, right into the corners and wipe any skirting boards kick boards
Wash out the washing machine drawer
    Got an hour...
    Clear a hotspot
Are the spiders coming in from the cold, go on a cobweb hunt
    Wipe down some paintwork
Sort out the baking cupboard/pantry - use those almost empty packets as inspiration for something to bake this week

    Extra challenge:
Choose your messiest drawer and give it a good tidy, wipe out if you have the time
Renew library books, fill in that form you've been meaning too, check for birthdays in the next few weeks.
    - School trip general form! Only had it since July when it arrived with DD's report! It arrived after they had broken up for the summer so just got shoved in a drawer as I didn't want it getting lost :o

Right I'm going for a HHC now in the kitchen after I've retrieved the wheelie bins, dailies and as much of the list as I can get done. Then about 9am I'll start on the decorating bits. Paid stuff will take over the livingroom tomorrow so I need to get this place under control.

    Hi everyone!
I'm struggling a fair bit health wise so I need to get back to doing the housework etc little and often to spread the load. Seems like a good time to join in again!
Since the weather forecast is looking good I also need to chip away at the gardening before it all becomes too daunting!
The plan is to do short stints across each day and get plenty of rest in between.
I always find this much easier with the virtual company on this thread.

I think I updated the list just before you posted, nicki - having checked again and realised that I'd missed your desk achievement off the updated list. You definitely deserved a star for that! Sorry for missing you first time round.

As usual you are going 20 to the dozen, mrs-mp :T
I will have to do an abbreviated version of your achievements when I update the challenge list again in a minute, to keep the post to a manageable length, but please don't think I haven't noticed :D
Hi Ionofan, sorry for being such a dumbo but how do you type in a coloured font please?

Hi busy granny:wave: On my PC, the box where I type in a quick reply has a tool bar at the top. Highlight the text you want in colour and then click on the little downward-pointing arrow next to the "A" with a thick line underneath it; this will give you a choice of colours - just click on the one you fancy. It's the same if you "Go Advanced". It might be slightly different if you're sending a reply via a smartphone, but I'm not a smartie ;) HTH

    Good morning everyone.

I have made a good start on the kitchen this morning before dropping the toddler at nursery. Now I'm back and plan to spend the next hour finishing it off. I have even managed to sort through a shelf of old cook books which I never use and have bagged the unwanted ones for the charity shop.

I have also noticed that you all seem to have a September challenge so have decided to join in. After a lot of thought I have decided that the walk in cupboard in the bedroom needs sorting once and for all. I need somewhere to hide the Christmas presents this year from prying eyes and it's the perfect spot. I think it's going to take a good few hours but will be breaking it down over the month. Perhaps a job for Monday morning when the little nosey one is at nursery ( I already have gifts for Christmas hidden in there).

Off to the kitchen after a cup of tea.
