I think we, the 'general public' want to see you get the pension you have paid into on time and in order.

Mostly we want to see it done efficiently and not to have all these delays which will have to be paid/compensated for? it does the public no good to have to pay for such incompetence.

And it does you no good to have such a chip on your shoulder either.
  • Yes, the general public deserve value for their taxes, but they pay no quantifiable short term penalty above their existing tax liability, whether MyCSP are an efficient organisation or not. The people currently paying the highest price for that incompetence are the pensioners waiting for their money

I stand by my opinion that government see the public services as an easy touch because existing prejudices (and there are some, without a doubt) favour the electoral aspirations of those who would like to see austerity measures against the public sector continue.

However, I acknowledge that it is not constructive to suggest that the majority of the public swallow the myth of the idle civil servant sleeping his way towards a gold plated pension.

A hell of a lot of data has had to be migrated from one IT system to another, with new people then needing to be trained up to administer it. 'Teething problems' are to be expected, and if you think otherwise, presumably you have never been involved in a sizeable project involving big IT changes before.

Last time I looked, civil servants were taxpayers too, I think?

As it happens I have been at the sharp end of using a migrated system which has gone wrong, and I understand both sides of the coin. The people who, though not responsible for the system's creation, have to put a brave face on their dealings with a disgruntled customer and do their best to make it work, and those who suffer because it doesn't. Nevertheless, whatever the issues in migrating data on one IT system to another might be, the patience to be expected when one is awaiting payment of a pension and living on credit cards and fresh air IMO remains a finite quantity.

If all this is so well known in the CS, poerhaps they should have

    A left it to capita

B took time making new systems and training BEFORE any changeover. the changeover was I assume to save money, but instead is costing money. To all taxpayers. which means it was a bad decision poorly implemented.

Well aware that some Civil servants do a good job and get very little reward for it while those who have no ties and are mobile easily get promotion
plus the useless ones in any company always get pushed up instead of out such is the stupidity of employment laws

Certainly my dealings with all manner of Government Depts are enough to make one totally and utterly despair of the calibre of people they employ and there's a lot of "jobs worth " hats that should be awarded .

My CSP is certainly getting a very bad name for itself but then so is every government department .........jo public is basically fed up with being taxed to the hilt yet receiving no service in return
