This despicable practice of ritual fobbing off and delaying tactics continues unabated. Over a week ago now, following yet another phone call, finally answered after about 20 minutes resulted in the same old "computer programme shows a fault" ridiculous response. This is just to get one small part of the lump sums I am owed, let alone the pension payments which are now also 2 months overdue. Unfortunately I have 2 seperate elements ( 1 preserved) which they seem totally unable to fathom, despite Capita previously working it out and notifying me of status about 2 years back. As for the part due from my service up to retiement age, I even have a letter updating the value to a date 9 days prior to retirement and issued by MYCSP THEMSELVES ! Isuppose I made the mistake of informing them that I was about to go on a pre-arranged long holiday where further communication would have to be carried out by e-mail. This has obviously been promptly ignored, despite promises to answer a week ago. So here I am, abroad, accesible funds rapidly dwindling and about to go in the red, while this appalling set up are allowed to blunder on. There has to be a conscientious decision made to delay all of these payments, somebody is raking in huge amounts of interest on it all. Jeez- I haven't even mentioned the rebate on WPS payments as a single person on retirement yet !!!

The Cabinet Office contract delivery of CS pensions to MyCSP and are ultimately responsible for the current fiasco. I've yet to see any comment on the following:

    1. Did the Cabinet Office agree to MyCSP taking over the payment contract from Capita?

    2. What preparation and risk planning (if any) was undertaken by MyCSP to ensure a smooth transition on handover of the contract. Did the Cabinet Office oversee and approve the transition process?

    3. What steps are the Cabinet Office now taking to recover the situation and are the Cabinet Office going to levy penalties on MyCSP for failing to deliver a satisfactory service?

Let me answer your questions in the order they are asked

    1. Did the Cabinet Office agree to MyCSP taking over the payment contract from Capita? Only the cynical might suggest that either some high ranking Civil Servant or ex minister has a major role in MyCSP. Isn't that why Alan Millburn is kicking off about the NHS as his consultancy work will dry up under Labour's plans?

    2. What preparation and risk planning (if any) was undertaken by MyCSP to ensure a smooth transition on handover of the contract. Did the Cabinet Office oversee and approve the transition process?
Only the cynical would suggest that any risks would remain with the government. Only the cynical would suggest that someone with Nelson's eye would have oversight. Approval would be implicit.

    3. What steps are the Cabinet Office now taking to recover the situation and are the Cabinet Office going to levy penalties on MyCSP for failing to deliver a satisfactory service? Only the cynical would suggest that the service level provided, measured by some dodgy targets, did not meet those dodgy targets.

So my dear, you are worrying over nothing and stop being so cynical. How would you expect to progress in any career if you cannot see what a wonderful job is being done. :rotfl:

  • Post 94 tries to be clever but fails to answer the questions raised. The Cabinet Office and the Ministers responsible for the delivery of CS pensions have remained silent on the continuing problems.
  • For me, today marks 2 calendar months since I first contacted MyCSP.

As a benchmark, I contacted the Teacher's Pension Agency on the 4th December ( 3 days after MyCSP ) and started receiving money into my bank account on the 12th January.

I notice that forum user 'MyCSP' has once again posted his/her generic message. He/She clearly hasn't read the messages on this thread because he/she has not addressed anyone in particular and is still posting the email address that everyone says gets no response one of which is only two posts before his/hers. Presumably this is a calender entry to post a 'we want to help' message every couple of weeks whilst not actually doing anything.

So, MyCSP, prove me wrong. Actually address the issues raised in this thread to show you are actually reading about people's difficulties with your organisation. Don't post that useless email address. Use this forum's PM system to contact people directly and deal with their concerns. That'll show the users here you want to help and not just be pretending to help. You can start by acknowledging you've read this post by replying to it....

    I agree.

The MyCSP poster should stop posting here, and spend more time actually answering emails made to that account. As none are ever answered?

I agree that the rep should be dealing with people directly but unfortunately MSE does not allow them to use the forum's PM system.

I was not trying to be clever but flippant.

Having said that those are the bog standard patronising responses you are likely to get from officialdom. :)

If you're going to answer posts, shouldn't you at least use the appropriate username so it doesn't get confusing?

Not everyone might have worked out that you and OldBeanz are one and the same.
  • Clumsy, posting with one name and justifying with another.

The more I think about it, the more I'm inclined to believe that the unfitness for purpose of MyCSP has been deliberately engineered. Does the general public care about civil servants or their pension entitlement? By and large, no. Most of them probably believe the guff about government employees sitting around with their feet on desks drinking tea, and therefore that there's a degree of Karma in giving them stress at the point of retirement. Not least it might well ease the path for further cuts, should an austerity-driven administration of any political colour that you might name be elected in May. So delay some pensions, save some money in the short term, and at the same time appeal to the public's natural resentment at the dodgy work ethic of government employees; job done.

As for "MyCSP" the poster, well; parroting the same old response along with an email address which many contributors will already have found to be a black hole isn't helping anybody. In fact, and this is only a personal opinion, I'm beginning to find it rather insulting.
