Many thanks for this. In regards to the five and a half hours, I was looking at something else on google maps for the estimated time travel.

In regards to the dual carriageway and the motorways, are they any nasty surprises to watch out for speed camera wise, like are there any ones not in real proper view if you know what I mean.

There should be signs to tell me what limit I should be travelling at so I will stick to them and not take any risks.

Not me.... ;) Not even an audi. :D

Shame I have no one to come with me tbh as it would make journey more intresting and more at ease. I don't speak out to my brother, fallen out with a freind who would be ideal for the trip.

Thinking of posting an ad on blablacar, see if anyone needs tropping back from Aberdeen to Birmingham.

Atleast then, i'll save some money and have peep(s) to talk to!

Not there should be, there WILL be, the car should have cruise control on, to relax the drive and adhering to limits.
    I guess a MK5 R32, where do I collect my prize from?

No real surprises just be aware that there LOTS of speed cameras all the way until you reach the motorway between Perth and Stirling.

This should give you an idea of what I mean by lots:

I've highlighted the infamous fixed one at Laurencekirk - zoom in to see where I mean.

There are also numerous mobile camera vans to look out for too.

I've got my phone to will use that, got 3G and unlimited data, hopefully no issues with Three on the day.

3 coverage in the Scottish area can be patchy and if not available will drop to EE 2G, please check in advance if you require data access.

BHX? If it were closer, I would take you up there, I used to have a MK5 GTI but manual, make use of the CC as R32 can be thirsty in standard form, it's probably going to cost you near £90 in fuel as those use super unleaded, and you may get 30mpg driving sensibly.

I meant that on all the motorway-like dual-carriageways and single carriage ways on your journey they are very frequent.

Between Perth and Stirling you pick up the genuine motorway and after that speed cameras are liable to be on any overhead gantry as they are on any motorway in the rest of the country.
  • What's your plan if the Faster Payment fails to arrive until the end of the next working day?

They usually quote 2hrs max, often I find it is instantaneous, I remember when I got my MK4 Golf, sent the guy the money before I had collected the car, it all worked out well, but I wouldn't do it again though.

Scottish 'area' ? If you mean the country, 3 has the best 3G coverage here beating all other networks (OFCOM data, released last week). The road network is well covered.
