OP, there's nothing you can expect your neighbours to do about this really. My cat goes outside. She has a litter tray and knows how to use it. She's used it once in about 2 months. I have no idea where she 'goes'. There are 3 other cats regularly in my garden, they're probably using it..if you're finding that much it's probably more than one cat and not just your neighbours' 'fault'!
"Nothing you can expect your neighbours to do about it really"??? And why is that??? B-coz you say so??? Umbelievable! You have a cat. She knows how to use it. She's used it once in two months. Other cats are probably using it??? What??? If other cats are using it of course she isn't going to use it. And if you have it oustide then of course othe cats will use it. Duh! The litter tray should be inside and that's where you train yout cat to use it. You keep it clean for your cat to use and then your neighbors will have clean gardens too. Duh!

Its not nice but it's an occupational hazard of owning a garden..
What??? An "occupational hazard of owning a garden"??? Total nonsense. I lived in Asia for 15-years. Never once did I see evidence of cats and dogs fouling anywhere around / nearby / in the immediate vacinity of where people lived. The cats and dogs were ltrained from birth to go off into the jungle areas where no people were. And where cats/dogs are kept as pets, owners would never ever allow their pets to foul outside anywhere. Here in the UK you allow dogs to urinate wherever; you carry poop shovels and plastic bags. Duh. Unheard of in many other countries except where the concept of having a cat / dog as a pet has been introduced and over time people get lazy and are allowed to stop being responsible for keeping their pets under control. As a cat owner, are you happy for your cat to foul your garden? Yes? Then please make sure they are trained to do so. And "No", the train them and put preventative measures for them not to foul other people's gardens!

....... Total nonsense "cat is a free spirit". Total nonsense "can't expect to keep the cat inside". We had cats for over 20-years. Never once did we allow the cat to roam free outside to wander and foul all over the place. ........

that makes you the classic irresponsible pet owner who should not be allowed to own a cat.
I can overlook your persistent inability to write using proper english words - but not cruelty to animals.
The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....

Try send the cat when it is entering in your garden for 2 or 3 days. Then the cat won't come for some days. Try to chase for some days. Then it will be ok!
Sorry but it is never okay. Two three days later the cat is back fouling the garden. Chase that one away and another is there whilst the first is away. Chase the second away and the first comes back. Meantime a third drops in on the quiet. This goes around around around in a nevr ending circle. 5-years later it's still going on. One cat dies of old age. You breath a sigh of relief. A couple of days later another is there. The longset we've gone without finding the garden fould is two weeks. They must all have gone on a busmans holiday!

Yeah good one, inflict pain and injury on an animal for defaecating on 'your' land. You could also keep a shotgun handy and watch out for birds that dare to do their droppings on your land, or even worse on the car. I'd recommend printing a copy of your deeds and talking the cat through the finer points of boundary line legislation. Alternatively, accept that we share the planet with other species who have as much right to use its land as humans do.
Why not post your address here. We'll ensure all these loving cats drop in and foul your "land". Oh, but of course, you don't have this problem do you. You don't have land for cats to foul??? Or you have cats that foul others land??? Tell you what, why not drop in and clear up the mess as a helping had for your neighbors??? Another red tape smoke and mirrors poster.

You really are a disgraceful excuse for a human being.
And you're not I'm guessing. You're one of these angels that believes every cat has the right to foul others gardens but not your own. No. Sorry. I got it wrong. You think it is disgraceful to put sharp objects in the garden b-coz the poor little fouling !!!!! cat might be forced to hurt itself in the process. And I'm guessing you believe you are a graceful human being leaving these fouling cats at peace to foul as they please.

Wrong, I have a large garden and enjoy it, as do my children and any free roaming animals that come and go as they please. S##t is part of life, setting up carpet grippers against cats is inhumane, bordering on sadistic.
Oh, please post your address here. We'll encourage these fouling cats to move town to be part of your life. S##t as you put it may be part of your life and I bet you clean up after yours, right?

Agree with what you say, my neighbours dog poos in my garden, so I have to clean it up. I am a dog lover, have two of my own and six cats of which two use a tray the other don't. I would and have cleaned up after them. I hate people who are out to hurt any animals, usually been bullied their selves, so lets bully cats etc etc.
It's nothing about bullying cats. It's all about owners like yourself being responsible and 1) ensuring that your cats and dogs are not fouling others gardens and public places, and 2) that you clean up after them and take appropriate measures to put a stop to the fouling when presented with the factual evidence that they are. Live and let live maybe but clearing up others mess is most definitely not on that agenda.
