Neighbours cat fouling our garden

I'm happy chasing them off like that, and it's nothing compared to what they do if they catch a bird or a mouse (cats are nasty, vicious animals).
I would actually state that there is no creature on earth as vicious as humans.
Let's try and get off our high horse here. The things we do to animals on a daily basis so we can enjoy our daily meat consumption is disgusting.
I am not going to start linking videos of how chickens or cows are being treated, we all know them and we don't need them.
Not got a problem with you chasing it off tho -that's life. Just make sure it stays within:
"Under the Protection of Animals Act 1911 it is a criminal offence to cruelly beat, kick, ill-treat, torture, infuriate or terrify any animal."0 -
That is a very good point.
There is no creature on this planet as destructive as a human.
It's a little bit rich to condescend to decide what 'rights' other animals have or don't have when we ourselves are the most verminous species on the planet and have the biggest influence on the environment and eco-system.
It's easy to speak of pet owner responsibility, but let's take a dose of realism here. Even if people didn't keep cats as pets, there would still be cats around, still cats roaming people's gardens, hunting, spraying and pooing. People who think that cat owners are somehow inconsiderate, irresponsible or anti-social do need to take a step back for some sensible perspective.:www: Progress Report :www:

the point was that parents can't control their children falling ill as much as cat owners can't control what their cat does when it roams.
Personally we don't have cats. Our area has foxes (and have found their poo in our garden). One sh*t on top of our garden turtle that's got brushes to wipe off mud from your shoes. I took a plastic bag, bagged it, wrapped another around it and binned it. Then I went on with my life.
I do have a 4 year old playing in the garden. He knows what poo is and points it out to me. I pick it up and deal with it and again, move on.
The following is directed at nobody specific:
If you have time to be angry about cats (and other animals) pooing in your garden, then to me that is a sign that you have very few problems indeed in life.
If poo in your garden upsets you, do something about it (plenty of successful methods have been suggested). If you can't be bothered to invest in a device that scares off cats, then clearly this problem isn't that important to you and maybe you're just after a good fight?

Agree with those pointing out that cats just can't be controlled, and also with those pointing out that humans are the worst kind of animal there is. Look at all the horrific stuff going on in the world at the moment - who is causing all that? A bit of poo is nothing in comparison! I don't own cats or any other pets and never have but I just accept that cats, birds, foxes etc. are part of everyday life.0

The only people who should be 100% careful with removing cat poo are pregnant women as some cats carry Toxoplasmosis. I enjoyed my pregnancies as OH had to deal with the litter tray
The reason why cats can roam free is not because they can not be controlled but because they are not considered a danger to humans.First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win - Gandhi0 -

I:)?
So what is wrong with that? Surely you want people to have as few problems as possible or would you prefer that everyone had major problems so that they didn't have time to worry about cat poo?0 -

It would change things slightly if someone had a pet Tiger:www: Progress Report :www:

Here's a little thing my wife and I discovered by accident (or through laziness)!
We'd had problems over the last number of years with neighbours cats fouling our garden all the time. A couple of years ago we had hardly any mess in our garden though, and couldn't understand why...although with 2 children, we were very grateful. The same this happened this year - we've had hardly any cat faeces in our garden. Then we remembered, in both years, we had left the grass grow over the winter, and were the last people in our area to mow our grass in the new year - where previously we were generally the first.
Our only deduction is that cat's being the ponces that they are, do not like long wet grass, and therefore chose someone else's garden as their personal toilet for the year rather than traipse around our garden getting wet and possibly having their own crap rubbed on their fur.
Of course it might be a coincidence...but its our best guess.
that's interesting because dogs prefer to poo in my longer grass because I let it grow too much. Once they have decided their fouling spot I had a job to avoid it continuously, bar sitting up all night and providing proof of who's dog it is. Fortunately the culprit with a staffie moved house and has been replaced by an otherwise reasonable woman but with three cats who starting pooing on my mowed lawn. Not seen any poo lately but she may be clearing it up or I just can't see it!0 -
I had a cat come onto my garden, and I was repulsed that their thoughtless owners had let them do so - they could have done a poo which would have caused me a minor inconvenience, I would have to put it in the bin along with the odd crisp packet I have to pick up. To stop the feline invasion, I buried land mines everywhere and after the first dozen explosions I find that both cats and the postman avoid my property.
Now I have a hedgehog who vandalises my property, any ideas of what I can do to stop it encroaching on my land? I was thinking about camping out and disposing of it using a rocket propelled grenade launcher. Any ideas where I can pick up some cheap RPG's?
This just made me spit my tea all over my keyboard!

Some bizarre cat advice, but it really does work. Your first pee of the morning, or some time where you haven't been for a wee for a while and it is a bit stinky. That time, pee into a jug. Take jug to where cats come into garden. Pour a bit of wee every foot or so. Problem solved, no cats
Failing that, several zoos sell lion dung which does work. Not tried the human variant of that for obvious reasons.
