  • Day 19 :beer::j

Poor dog had to go to the vets. Had an infection in a small cut in his paw so that was £120.. :(

The statement for the MBNA credit card came in so ive paid just a little bit over the minumin payment - £31.

Other than another few £ spend on stuff when i met up with friends, its been ok. I certainly dont expect any major spends soon hopefully.

Maybe il get some overtime at work - haha. Could do with payday boost :rotfl:

Joined the Virtual Pot Challenge - Il round my account down to the nearest £10. Hopefully it means my online cash ISA, which only stands at £6.16, will go up over time.

Cant believe its day 20 tomorrow - I thought id never manage 1 day. Aiming for a month as thats my next milestone.

  • Brilliant stuff, MrCF:T. 20 days and counting:j

Poor dog, and poor you having to pay a hefty vet's bill:eek:. My cat cost me a small fortune last year and although finding the money was a big problem I didn't begrudge it for all the joy I get from him.

  • And back to day one after a minor slip up today. it wasnt anything major but it still counts as a slip up so il put myself back to day one. Still, 27 days is not bad. next aim is more.

Been really busy with work as were improving the office etc just now, so havent had a minute to myself to get on here. Maybe thats whats led to the slip up, but nevermind.

I hope everyone else is doing good though. Ive losy weight ans am feeling healthy so things are on the better.

Hopefully will manage to get on here over weekend.

    Ah **enter sad face here**

There is nothing in this life that can destroy you but yourself. Bad things happen to everyone, and when they do, you can't just fall apart and give up, you must fight back.

If you don't, you're the one who loses in the end. If you refuse to give up on yourself and fight back, you always win....

Dont be a stranger we all want to help....

  • I came across this thread after your last update, and I have to say - it's utterly engrossing! The ups and downs that you've faced, and yet the optimism and positivity you move forward with.

Indeed, as things stand, it's the only diary I've subscribed to so far! It's been a little while since your last update - so how are you getting on?

This is probably the exact thing that isn't helping this guy. Having scanned the thread I note that on 16.05.15 his debts were approx. £14,000 and then on 15.12.15 they appear to be £23,000 - unless I am missing something, it appears that his situation is getting worse?

whilst its apparent from the posts that McF is clearly a hard working and pleasant guy, the current methods of moving away from gambling are not working, and I actually questions what methods are actually being used, apart from "support" once a 2 week period has been reached?

There is professional help available which should be encouraged to stop things getting worse. A person of young age who earns a good income, should be saving, enjoying life, holidays and not worrying about money, sitting in a dark room gambling in the hope to receive financial gain from thin air.

look back at the diary. unless things change, they will continue to get worse and for heavens sake, don't be mislead by the weak individuals on here who seem to encourage your failures.
  • The fact that you had to set up a fake profile on here to say your unsolicited opinions because you know you would get banned for doing so says a lot.

This is his space to talk about his journey, to criticise someone from the comfort of your keyboard is disgraceful. There's a difference between supportive and being an enabler, please research the difference.

It really isn't your or anyone else's place or job to place demands on someone else's lifestyle. I'm fairly sure he knows his faults as do we all. Perhaps you should stick to addressing yours as then you won't need to set up a ghost account to wade into someone else's diary?
