Still cold turkey and its day 12!
Paid £150 to each of the credit cards so I have breathing space with them at the moment. The other £600 is still in the bank as im waiting for the car to be repaired. Hopefullly it doesn't cost too much.
Got news that im getting a little bonus in the January wage so im happy at that. Was told its not anything anazing but obviously worth having. Delighted if im honest.
Whats everyones for New Year?

I can't believe me and OH have nearly been in the house for nearly 12 months, where has time gone?
Anyway, its coming up to renewal time for the utilities so I managed to organize next years house insurance. We got a great deal for £40 less than last year and I managed to get another £40 back via TCB. Its showing as pending already so win win. Looking at the other utilities (Electric + Broadband) to see where the best deals are and how much cash back we can get. I know its not guaranteed but its worth a shot.
OH and I had an afternoon coffee out today which was nice. We haven't been out in ages so it was nice to sit and relax.
OH and I were discussing finances for 2016. We've agreed to take £50 a month from the joint account and along with another £50 from each of us, we will save £150 a month together. This is to build up savings and for a family wedding away next year. So next year already sounds tight money wise. This starts from the end of January so I have a few weeks to get things organised.
Got to be done though. We need to save something together and make sure we have something behind us for any house emergencies. I suppose its really good thing to have and i' happy to do it.
The car is booked in to get fixed tomorrow... not sure if i'm happy or not :rotfl:

MCF,
put your details into uswitch, for comparison for broadband & Electric.
You can do this through Quidco or TCB and get cash-back if you find a cheaper suppler.
I have moved my broadband this year and my home insurance. I have fixed for my utilities, so haven't switched this.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Banking & Borrowing, and Reduce Debt & Boost Income boards. Feeling your pain with the car repairs ... fingers crossed not too expensive for you.
Good news with the utilities.
Great news that you and OH have plans for 2016 - you sound much more relaxed and focused.. doesnt it feel good :T
Have a happy New Year0 -
Happy New Year to all. I hope everyone had an enjoyable time.
Car finally got sorted yesterday so thats £200. I also had to give my neighbour £50 for doing it so thats me £250 worse off. To be fair is needed lots doing. Hopefully that should be it for a good while.
So with paying £150 to each of the credit cards, my money is fast dissapearing haha. No more spends in the next while hopefully.
OH and I just back from dog walking, nice walk along the beach.
Back to work Monday - tonorrow will just be a lazy day.
Oh and I nearly forgot - its day 17 today!
The dog has a sore paw, hope its not serious
