Anyway, I have to do this and make it right for 2016. I have promised myself that if I gamble again I have to tell OH. I need to do it for the relationship and any chance of contributing to the mortgage and the possibility of moving in years to come.
MrCF
I so agree with you on the power of books:T. I'll never underestimate how valuable it was to me at mind-blowing difficult times to just switch off for a while and get lost in a book:j
The other thing that stands out for me from your earlier post was the bit about '' if I gamble again I have to tell OH''. How have you managed to get away with it for so long without the person who shares your life and your home not knowing?.
You mention lots of things you are doing (always really interesting by the way, I love reading about them:T) but they always seem to be things you do yourself. You hardly ever mention OH which suggests you don't actually spend much time together on shared interests and activities. Maybe if you spent more time together on a joint interest you'd have less opportunity or desire to gamble. It's all too easy to fall into bad habits when we're alone:(
The sun is shining here for a change, lovely blue sky and barely a breeze:j. Lifts the spirits so much, makes me so much more positive about even the biggest problems. Wishing you a lovely day too:beer:0 -
We have separate bank account as we are not married and we have different bills etc. She has actually got access to mine but hasn't looked at it in years. I've just been paying my way towards the joint account and as long as that's paid for she doesn't question my spends or lack off :rotfl:
She did ask last night though about my savings and I confessed I had none. She thought I might have saved up a little, as she is aware I have loans, but she only thinks I pay about £500 a month to these and not over £1k. I would rather clear it up myself *IF* I can do it!!!! If I fail again I have promised to tell her or walk away as it isn't fair on her. I hurt her once before with all this nonsense and I can't do it again.
OH and I do quite a lot together but yes somehow I never seem to mention her ooops. Maybe its strange for me keeping a diary and I am always so focused on not putting everything on here as I would hate for anyone to know what I was etc. My own family have no idea about any of this and my circumstances. I'm very private. Maybe it wouldn't have happened if they knew earlier on in life, but I suppose that can't be changed now.
It's raining heavy with me right now. I was wanting to tidy up the garden but that won't be happening
Might dig out the old star wars dvd's and watch them before I get to see the new film (probably not soon due to ticket prices).
Tomorrow were going round the family dropping off all the presents. Oh the joysSaving for that dream holiday0 -
So yesterday was day 4 and it was completed all ok. visited some family and took the dog for a walk. The weather down here is just aweful though. Its been raining for days
OH and I been at each others throats a wee bit through family stuff. It isnt nice but sometimes things have to be said on both sides. I just hope we can be ok over xmas.
Finish work tomorrow until the 27th so thats good. Cant wait to get a break from meetings and powerpoint.
Really hoping there is a few hours overtime in this months wages. Could do with getting a bit over £2k as my debt and joint account payments equal £1900. I think the company are actually paying us before xmas too this year
Away to makw cuppa and read a few more chapters!Saving for that dream holiday0 -
Hope you have a nice week off - i'm sure you will make it up with OH afterall it is xmas
Getting paid early is great ... just being skint through January is the downside:(
I'm in the same boat tbh and I have car tax end of jan and mot feb
Still - we have to keep plodding on :rotfl:0 -
Getting confused writing about the previous days activities so il just stick to what ive done each day.
Presents delivered to family and everyone seen before xmas. Got a few more cominh round the next few nights so busy busy.
Still not spent any money in ages which is good. I know ive got some money for xmas so that will help with the situation.
payday tomorrow too, excited to see if i have any overtime.
Me and OH made up, feels great.
Have you guys stuck to xmas budgets? We did relatively ok this year. Mind you we had no more money so that was it.
Started looking at topcashback a bit more to earn some extta cash when we buy things.Saving for that dream holiday0 -
So its payday today and I got about a pound more than I wanted - £2001 :rotfl:
Upon checking the bank though I noticed that the family member transferred me over the £900 which I gave them for car repairs.
I had £50 left in the invisable account so I transferre over £1000 for Januarya DD's and SO's. Also put my £750 to the joint account.
What should I do with the £900? Pay off credit card 1 completely or a little to both cards? Or keep it? Im a bit unsure? HELP
Do I keep some incase the car breaks? AARRRGHHHHH. Decisions decisions.
p.s - ITS DAY 7!!!

whoop whoop for day 7, well done you.
I would get rid of the temptation of the £900 sitting in your account that may persuade you to go back online, so as you have a invisible account as you call it, put it in there, and if the car breaks down or you need it back, we can cross that bridge if needed...

Hi,
I take it you need the car to get you to work? Therefore its definately a priority that the £900 is put towards this and get you through the month.
It's a good suggestion by Westie to put in to the invisible account.0 -
Just grabbing a bit of peaceful 'me' time before preparing yet more food (it never ends today, I've barely escaped from the kitchen:eek:)
Wanted to say I hope you and OH are enjoying your first Christmas in your current home, MrCF, and you haven't over-indulged on the food and drink and let your healthy habits go to pot:beer::xmastree::xmastree::xmastree::xmastree::xmastree::xmastree:0 -
Wow its day 11, incredible how time flies. Things are going great and we had a great time over xmas, thanks for asking CBC.
We got spoilt by the family too so we were very happy. So many nice things for both ourselves and the house.
Been busy eating for 2 days and catching up with family
Looking forward to eating healthy again though, all these pies and cakes are good but oft, make me feel sick.
Got some vouchers so I went and got a new gew bits and bobs yesterday. Stuff I really needed so it was ideal.
Hopefully ordering a few things for the house too with some xmas money
I hope you all enjoyed yourselves !
