Hey There, you are doing REALLY well....keep it going!!

Aww I've always wanted to get a Dog the whole of my Adult Life too....I had one when I was little....and I loved him....I used to curl up and go to sleep with him, he was a great big Great Dane...huge but wonderful :)

Unfortunately I can't have one at the moment as I live in a Studio Flat and not only can we not have Animals here, it would be cruel to have a Dog in such a small space....

And the fact that you are doing it for your OH is so sweet....

Well Done on everything you have achieved....You're an inspiration to me xXx :)
  • Thanks for your lovely words Dreamer Helen. I want the dog too, it will be an extra friend around the house. Hopefully I can keep this momentum up, time is flying by.

Day 10 has come and gone really quickly. Did more fitness this morning so feeling slightly tired.

I have family round all weekend so hopefully I still get a minute or two to get on here.

Hopefully the weather stays good, could do with some sun.

Had a busy week so hopefully get to put my feet up for a bit.

I had a busy day yesterday and then fell asleep when I got home. Spent several hours at my large (up for sale) house gardening and cleaning in preparation for a viewing. Woke at 9pm but had a fairly good night's sleep as well.

However I woke in the middle of the night in a panic as I 'had not fed the puppy'. Took ages to convince myself that there was no puppy. My imaginary puppy had short brown glossy hair like a dachshund but was between a whippet and a staffie in size.

I have had chocolate but bought the smallest 21g bars (5 for a £1) and have tried to just have one of them when the craving is too much - may switch to white chocolate as I can eat a couple of squares of that and then stop.

    Excellent work on not gambling.

  • Hi Mr CF

By chance saw your diary and I just wanted to say hi and I'm impressed with the way you are moving forward by keeping busy, keeping fit and staying focused :j

Have you read any of Chris Cart£rs books?
  • Morning.

Didn't have a minute to get on yesterday. So that's day 11 and day 12 nearly finished. Both successful. Feeling good.

Loan 1 came out on Friday so that's one bill paid. I took £10 out yesterday to pay for a few snacks for the family visiting.

Hi taking control at last - no I haven't read any of them but il keep them in mind and add them to my to read list .

Mothernerd - funny dream about the puppy. I've been looking at puppies so much over the last week. I can't wait till the end of the year.

Family don't leave till late tonight so it's another busy day :o

Away to do some shopping, hopefully don't buy too much.

    Update tonight/tomorrow

  • That's the family away. Had a lovely weekend catching up and having a laugh. It was well needed. OH treated us all to lunch today and the family bought us a meal last night. It was very good of them.

So this weekend all I've done is spend £10 which is fantastic. Still waiting for loan 2 and car loan to come out but that will be next week. I did fuel up about £35 worth of fuel throughout the week and I put that on the CC. I've changed my standing order so it will automatically pay the outstanding amount on the CC, rather than the £100. This means I can never get in debt from it and il be paying as I'm using it theoretically.

Going to have a busy week at work so it's hoping to be an early night for me. Really want to get Reading but there just isn't an hour spare in the day at the moment.

Enough about me, how is everyone else?

  • Sounds like a lovely fun weekend, MrCF. Well deserved after all your hard work to sort your problems out recently.

MY weekend hasn't been so great, just the opposite in fact. A friend I haven't seen for donkey's years turned up at my house this morning totally out of the blue. Definitely NOT the pleasant surprise it could have been:eek:.The place was a tip inside and out. We'd done a lot of pruning. cutting and chopping of shrubs etc yesterday until almost dark and just left it on the drive, paths etc, wherever it fell ready to be gathered up today. I'd earmarked today to wash the windows (so much bird poo around this past week:eek:).

OH had brought all his washing down to be washed (I do it not him, he's clueless:() and I'd tipped both baskets out all over the kitchen floor so I could sort it. We'd just had a cooked breakfast for the first time in months and the pots and pans were all piled up on the worktop ready to be washed (again by me:(). I desperately needed to wash my hair after all the exertions yesterday when I was just too tired to do it before bed as it's long and takes ages to dry. The Wurzel Gummage look certainly doesn't look good when you are greeting friends from the past:o

And with all this chaos the doorbell rang......

It's put me out of sorts for the whole day. I'm embarrassed, mortified, call it what you like. She probably thinks I've really let myself go and gone really downhill since we last met:o. She, of course, expecting to go visiting, was smart and perfectly groomed.

Sorry to go on but you did ask us how we were;)
  • Carbootcrazy : My sympathy goes out to you! I never get visitors when I've cleaned up; only when the ironing is dumped on the chair - why does this happen? :rotfl:

Mr CF: You sound like you have had a lovely Sunday - lunch with your OH and family - very nice :)

    Me...

I'm climbing the mountain of fighting the debt and this weekend I've set myself a challenge of trying to reduce the cost of food shopping and any savings will go towards paying off the OD - saved over £7.00 on this week's shopping - not sure how long it will take as OD is £1700
  • Wow CBC, sounds like it was highly embarrassing. I hate it when people come round when I haven't done the dishes, never mind washing lying everywhere :rotfl:

What was her reaction to the mess? I bet it made conversation slightly funny..

TCAL - £7 is £7. Do this every week and its nearly £30 to throw towards debts. That's £360 a year which is a lot of money. Keep going, the more you try, the better the result. That's why the saying is practice makes perfect :D

I had a rumble to vodafone tonight on the phone about a letter they sent out so I got £5 free credit added onto my account (delighted). Should reduce my bill for this month which will be big enough. Maybe I can find more to mean about and I'll get more money off

My signature was wrong so I've had to work out my total debt again. Here goes:

    Nationwide Loan 1 - £8680.72
    Nationwide Loan 2 - £692.13
    Car Loan - £3538.00
    Zopa Loan - £1000.00

Bringing my total debt to a massive - £13,910.85

Still want to get this under 10k by the end of the year so the challenge is on. Hopefully my pay rise comes into effect this month, although I don't think it will. I have the holiday coming up in August so that might incur some cost but hopefully not too much.

Will maybe get to pay a decent chunk of Loan 2 off at the end of the month depending how much is left in the account. I hate having 4 debts now. 3 seemed manageable, 4 seems excessive. Hopefully in 2-3 months in will be gone.

I was also thinking about say if I do get a dog, maybe I will need an older van to take it to the woods etc. I could sell the car, pay off the finance and get a cheap old banger. Maybe....

Good Night people, see you all tomorrow.

The ironic thing is that, whilst I may not be a tidiness fanatic like my Mum was (made our lives a misery with it when we were children:eek:) I try to keep the place in a reasonable state and it's always clean. We've a lot of clutter but it's organised, not just strewn everywhere:eek:. Today's chaos was such a 'one-off', it's never like that!

The conversation, if you can call it that, was stilted, but as I hadn't seen her for about 35 years we didn't seem to have much to talk about any more anyway. She only dropped in because she was on a weekend break at some old friends of her husband about 30 miles away and she was bored. She left him there and went for a drive round (in their top of the range open-topped sports car no less) and realised she was in my neck of the woods. She's never been to our house before, we only knew each other from University and have never met since. Have always exchanged Christmas cards but that's about it. I thought it was a bit of a cheek somehow, just turning up like that out of the blue. She could have phoned to say she was on her way or something. I would never dream of dropping in on people unannounced. Maybe that's just me being peculiar:o. I saw her giving my old banger a good look as she walked past it:rotfl:. Our lifestyles are obviously very different now, she stayed in a city and obviously has a very busy social life whereas I live in a very quiet rural area.

I just want to forget all about it . Neither of us suggested a future meeting:rotfl:
