Verified by Visa problems - anyone else?

Ah, so it's not a credit card. You are still being very unclear in your description of your problems.
Is it with the Prepaid card and Securecode, or is it with Barclaycard and VbV? Are you assuming they are the same system because they look similar? Have they ever worked for you? Why do you keep wanting to change passwords ( I've had the same one for years and years) ?
How exactly am I being unclear about my problems? Have you read my previous post where I highlight the problems I seem to face?0 -

If you haven't read my previous posts - then let me take the opportunity to clarify. I have two cards. A mastercard, and a visa. One card is supplied by APS financial (cashplus), and the other card is supplied by barclaycard.
Specific websites request an additional layer of security when making online purchases and transactions - this security measure is called secure code (for the APS financial mastercard), and the verified by visa (for the barclaycard).
Now, numerous times when I have gone on to make online purchases, when I am taken to either the securecode website or the verified by visa website - it asks for the password I initially created, and to input that password.
I correctly type in my passwords - but the system(s) dispute that the incorrect passwords have been typed, and after three attempts - it locks you out of the system so the transaction cannot be completed.
You are then requested to contact your card issuer to remove the lock and to reset the code.
So you attempt again, and you enter a new password (as the systems do not allow you to input a password you have used previously).
So I create a new password - write it down so as to not forget.
Along comes another day when I decide to make an online purchase- I get to the verified by visa page and it asks for my password. I get hold of the piece of paper where I have written the code down and input the code - yet it gets rejected after two attempts. Before I would complete the thirst attempt, I would click at the bottom where it states 'forgotten code' and go through a process of resetting the code. It asks for the last three digits of the back of the security code on the card, and your date of birth. I enter these - only for these to be rejected to.
This vicious cycle repeated itself over and over and over again.
Each attempt almost always resulting in my having to telephone the related card issuer and having to reset the code (costing me time/expense) and repeat the cycle again of creating a new passcode.
I would then have to create a new code as none of my previous ones used (which are most memorable to me) can be used.
I think maybe you should have a THOROUGH read through of this thread and actually read and absorb peoples posts.
Just because the VbV is not affecting you - doesnt mean it isn't affecting other individuals.
And I have not ''assumed'' they are the same system - they are factually the same system being outsourced.0 -
I am trying to establish if this is an intermittent problem or a generic one. At no point in any of your posts have you described a successful purchase, so 2 questions:
- does it ever work when you have a fresh password?
- has it ever worked? The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0 -
When you create a new password after a 'reset' - it works, as it makes you create a new password and doesn't ask you to input that password.
It has never worked my inputting the correct code on a first attempt
- I ALWAYS have to go through a lengthy procedure - As i stated in my ORIGINAL post if you were to have actually read it : ''A normal one minute transaction is now taking me over an hour''. (from this quote you should be able to ascertain that it does eventually work after a lengthy reset procedure)
Are you actually reading any of my posts correctly or are you just skimming through everything and then replying?0 -
@hermetic -don't suppose you run No Script as an addon in your browser? I had to disable it to get VbV or Securecode to work reliably in the past.0

it certainly was not stated that the transaction succeeded after 1 hour, you left it hanging in mid-air for us to surmise what followed and how it was concluded.
Anyway with your attitude I will now bow out - you're on your own.The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0 -
Why do you keep wanting to change passwords ( I've had the same one for years and years) ?
May I suggest that the current advice is to change passwords regularly to protect yourself, maybe worth considering??
I really hope hermetic manages to get this sorted out, could you ask each card provider for a replacement card and see if the issue persists? Hope you get an answer quickly.I wish I knew more than I do!!0 -

Verifiy by Visa has let me down on Christmas Day 2014 and again on 1st of January 2015 the verification process told me that all my 15 attempts to pay using the system were not accepted/unsuccessful when I checked my bank details five payments had been authorised by my bank to a company that has not provided any goods or services, the bank say it is not their fault Typical now I need to wait 14 days and if I have not received any goods/services for my money I can get it back via the bank. disgusting behaviour by the bank really making unauthorised payments without my knowledge surely this is illegal? I have emailed Verifiy By Visa and received a receipt email from them I would hope they are sorting this mess out. The verification system threw up this message on January 1st 2015 There is a technical problem with the payment server .Please try again later . Server secure.worldpay.com. 15:15:18 1st Jan 2015. but My Bank again let the payment through without the verification system checking my card details.
I would advise anyone that receives a refused payment notification online not to try again and check their bank account first to see if the bank has allowed the payment to go. I am tempted to get the police involved as this is fraudulent behaviour by my bank.0 -
