Facebook and holidays

I know that Facebook is a big pet hate for many people but just wanted some feedback on something (try and avoid the 'told you so if you can!!!)
I'm on facebook, not hundreds of friends, nice to be in touch with old friends and ones living abroad plus I'm at home ALOT due to health problems so sometimes a good way to keep in touch with other folk..anyway..
My family and I have just been on a holiday with some close friends and I specifically asked her not to comment or tag us in pics as I don't like the fact people know that we are away due us to have been burgled twice in the past which was very upsetting for us and our kids, she agreed, but we have just got back and she had done exactly just that having tagged us into her airplane pics on airplane there!
I know we are know home and the house is fine, but I feel really annoyed with her for going against what we agreed, it's up to her what she writes about HER family, but I feel she has no respect for what we have previously been through...
Am I overreacting???? Thanks for reading in advance

Not sure you can tell when she tagged you - so she could have respected your wishes until you were all back in the UK and then added the tags - they can be added (and removed) subsequent to the photos being uploaded so even if the date on the photos was the date of the outbound flight, it wouldn't necessarily mean it was tagged then.Adventure before Dementia!0

That said I tend not to post photos etc whilst away for the same reason so I don't personally think your views are out of order. I tend to check Facebook occasionally whilst away and would have removed the tags if spotted.Adventure before Dementia!0

I don't always allow myself to be tagged.
Go to your settings and search for the tagging options.
You can then set it so you approve a tag or not. If you haven't approved the tag it won't show on your timeline,0 -
Good point, although she had stated on her post that they were on their way with us tagged in and would find that strange to post that after the holiday?Second purse £34.75/£50.00

If you only have close friends and family members on your Facebook page, rather than hundreds of people you barely know, I probably wouldn't be concerned. Presumably you don't expect to be burgled by your friends!0

Obviously I'm not clued up enough to know I can tag myself out of things I will remember that next time!
I know people talk about people away etc so I obviously don't think my friends would burgle me!!!! But i know it has happened to other people, my other problem is I feel let down by a close friend who I feel hasn't taken us seriously (no she hasn't been burgled herself)Second purse £34.75/£50.00

can't you see when the photo was posted on facebook? that would tell you whether it was done after you all came home?0 -
It's not much use now, but for future, you can allow tagging to happen only if you approve it. I don't allow anyone to post on my wall unless i approve it on my timeline and people can tag me in photos and quotes/statues etc but it will only show on my wall once I approve this (again in my timeline). if you switch that on then you can stop people posting things you don't want.
As for what has happened, yes I would be a bit miffed, but only beacuase I am so over the top about my facebook, I have really high settings and only allow people who are my friends on there to message me etc, it's really ridiculously high, but it's just beacuse i have family overseas and it's a great way to share information about our families.Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -
You can change your settings so that you have to approve any 'tags' be it photos or in a status.0

^^^ this!
There's a setting that prevents other peoples tagged photos appearing on your own page until you approve them, so I'd say it was just as much you at fault as well as her, given you could have easily prevented it.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0
