Of course this will never happen here. A great many of the population will go to the polls next year and vote Labour, this is fine if you are an underachiever and need my taxes to pay for you Sky subscription and scratch cards, but if you want to retire in comfort and enjoy the finer things in life it is not an option.
It seemed to work for Tony Blair :rotfl:Je suis Charlie.0 -

Don't scratch cards. It's a nasty habit and you get dirty paper under your nails.0 -

Hi - I'm new here, not sure if this is the best place to put this question etc. - if I should have started a new thread or not put it in a sticky thread I would be happy to be told and I will put it right.
Firstly just wanted to offer a genuine "thank you" to the many who contribute to this board. I have read replies to questions that others asked that have helped me so I should say "thank you".
I wanted to ask a general question regarding IAS appeals and to find out the forum consensus. I have been targeted by VCS for the road outside Robin Hood Airport - I won't bother with the details right now. Thankfully I found this forum before doing anything so appealed using the newbies template and I am awaiting their response.
As I understood it the writer of that great newbies thread is of the opinion that IAS appeals are a complete waste of time and that once the initial appeal has been rejected the best thing to do is just ignore further correspondence unless they ever actually start court proceedings. (By contrast Popla appeals are worth undertaking).
I have got the feeling that some agree with that line of thinking, others disagree. I also know that the legal situation changes sometimes so going by old threads isn't always best. So I wonder what is the current forum thinking on this?
I assume VCS will reject my appeal. I have seen some say go for IAS appeal as it shows one is reasonable, it allows one to flesh out details of the appeal and also gives them enough rope to hang themselves with due to their absurd decisions. On the other hand some say it's such a rigged kangaroo court that it is not worth even entering in to and that they are unlikely to take it further.0 -
just put search words like skippy into the forum search box and you will find loads of threads where it has been discussed to death, both for and against
this is one of the more informative ones

the fact that its a different airport makes no difference, its all the same really , some say appeal, some say ignore, both sides oput forward valid but competing arguments0 -
Thanks for your reply, Redx. I will do as you suggest and I have just read the link you posted.
I guess I was just curious in case I had missed some big development in the last few weeks that had changed things but it still sounds like it's not a settled matter in the forum regarding whether IAS appeals are worth bothering with.
I see in that thread you gave a link to a good discussion of it. They really do earn the names of skippy and kangaroo court. I know it frustrates regulars here having new members pop up asking obvious questions and I feel bad I hadn't come across that thread! In my defence I can only say the greed of these companies causes so many threads here it's hard to navigate through so much.0 -
email it all to parking prankster for his bizarre IAS decisions folder0

I'm so looking forward to my 'reasonable assumption the female RK is the male driver shown in PPC's photos' decision text.
It WILL be posted for the lolz.0
