I agree with Mr B. The only way to beat them is to beat them in court.
I read two days ago of someone who was taken to court, the PPC chickened out and the customer issued a claim and received a cheque for £350.
Of course this will never happen here. A great many of the population will go to the polls next year and vote Labour, this is fine if you are an underachiever and need my taxes to pay for you Sky subscription and scratch cards, but if you want to retire in comfort and enjoy the finer things in life it is not an option. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -

You were doing OK until you brought your particular brand of politics into the discussion. I cannot possibly see what that has to do with the subject under discussion. Show me a connection and I will show my backside in John Lewis's window.0 -
Agreed. Whether someone is a True Blue, a Red in the Bed, or a Middle-of-the-road Yellow matters not in this PARKING forum.0

PoPLA is broke. VCS ain't in it no more. Others will follow them out. If your "alternative" approach is what I think it is you will have to break cover with it sooner or later, you can't advise people in a public forum without, erm, advising them! What's more, if it's what I think it is then it ain't going to work for everyone, and it ain't going to be hugely popular. It's doubtful whether MSE will even tolerate it being advised here.
The bottom line is, unless I or someone else can think of a novel and absolutely genius technical strategy, the "industry" has proved to you the truth of the maxim "he who sups with the devil should have a long spoon". You supped with the devil, your spoon wasn't long enough.
It's time to stop hobnobbing with demons and to state, loud and clear, that bullies must be stood up to, not parleyed with.I agree with Mr B. The only way to beat them is to beat them in court.

There again the Deep you go waltzing in giving what is poor advice and now are including politics and your opinions on society. You did that on another thread and to be perfectly honest, i found some of your comments and insinuations quite distasteful..
There are many ways to stand up to bullies or intimidation and indeed I have done so in a variety of situations.. I have been through a great many situations which makes the soaps look tame by comparison !

Personally, I think you're a lovely person [gulp].0 -

Also the previous Labour government held a consultation on private clamping with various regulatory options, but stopped short of banning it, even though that was what most respondents opted for. It took a Conservative-LibDem coalition to achieve that.
But I wouldn't hold any great hope for any of the three main parties tackling the excesses of the private parking industry, they are all in thrall to the Civil Service mandarins who want to regulate everything. Only a party committed to greater libertarianism might have the guts to take on the establishment, and that's unlikely to happen by the next election.
I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.0 -
Guys, I started this thread to give posters who wanted to have a chance of appealing IPC PCNs at IAS somewhere to go to look to see how others have handled it.
Whilst I appreciate there is a new approach being put forward regarding appealing the windscreen PCNs via service addresses at a cost, there may still be those who wish to go down the less sure but free route of appeal.
If you wish to continue the above discussion, perhaps you could start your own thread for this please, as it is not overly helpful here.Newbie thread: go to the top of this page and find these words: Main site > MoneySavingExpert.com Forums > Household & Travel > Motoring > Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking. Click on words Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking. Newbie thread is the first post. Blue New Thread button is just above it to left.0 -

Apologies Dee for contributing to the hijacking your thread - However you must also include losses at the IPC and be very aware that with Gladstones solicitors involved PPCs that were not particularly litigious eg SIP before are now issuing court claims.0 -
Don't bother with IAS. Consumers are set up to fail, it's a kangaroo court in favour of parking firms.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I'll have you know I vote Tory, and pay for my own Sky subscription and scratch cards.0
