I really want to make my mum a hamper this year but struggling slightly to think of ideas for a "theme" or maybe I could just do an unthemed one  She's hard to buy for - allergic to soaps & perfumes so I can't buy anything like bath products, makeup, skincare products etc. She also has a gluten intolerance & is vegetarian.

I found this scarf on Amazon which has great reviews & is only £1.58, so I might start off with that as she likes scarves :) Anyone got any other ideas to add to it?
The scarf is beautiful I've got that one looks really expensive -another nice one when you click that one below that is a pink one about 4th along that's lovely as well.
What about a photo frame to go with it xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

    Morning all!

I'm loving this thread and pinching loads of ideas! Progress so far:

SIL - Gardening hamper: gloves, tool set, kneeling pad, handcream, nailbrush, coffee mug all in pink/floral patterns. On the lookout for some seed packets to add for wildflowers or something similar.

Niece (student, living @ home) - chocolate & coffee addicts hamper: chocolate iPhone, Costa travel mug, novelty chocolate doorstop, coffee mug, mini whisk, mini grater. Still need to get hot chocolate & coffee sachets, will probably add an Amazon Kindle voucher as she carries her Kindle with her everywhere :)

Trying to find items for a "driving" hamper for BIL (who is a driving instructor but also does other driving jobs). I've got a Costa travel mug but I'm struggling to think of other things apart from driving gloves. Any ideas welcome!

Have a great, inspirational week everyone!![/QUOTE

Just a thought with the driving hamper - an atlas - I know most of use sat nave but if ur stuck in traffic queue, accident etc or battery goes then atlas a good back up, travel rug, air freshener, wet wipes, packet of sweets, notebook and pen, xx

Some really good ideas there :)
For the driving one I can only think of maybe a 'joke' one of fluffy dice or something similar. Would you get him a fleecy blanket to have in the boot and maybe de icer/scraper etc for winter?

    Hi,

Just wanted to say thankyou all for some brilliant ideas.
I was a bit worried about Christmas this year due to having to cut costs down quite a lot but I now have some brilliant ideas and have already started to get some bits for hampers!

I'm going to do a 'male' hamper for the men in my family i.e. socks, pants, beer, scratchcard, shower gel, chocolate etc, and 'girlie night' ones for the ladies; pyjama's, slippers, hot choc, marshmallows, face mask, homemade biscuits, a mug etc.
I'll adapt them a bit for who I'm buying them for (some will get more than others!) but on the whole that's the plan.

I bought two lovely mugs for £3 from Morrisons today which was great, a large pot of Cadbury's hot chocolate on special offer for £2 which I'm going to put in cellophane bags with a christmassy tie and also got 5 face masks for £3.
Bring on more bargains - I'm loving it!:T

Can I just ask you all where you get your cellophane wrap from?
I can see 10m X 80cm wrap on Amazon for approx £5.99 - is this about right or can I get it cheaper elsewhere?

Try ebay, there are quite a few sellers on there, its where I got mine from last year. In the past other people have suggested trying florists but when I approached my local one I was told categorically (and quite rudely) that they didn't sell it separately :( put me off trying anywhere else.

I did my son a Marmite hamper, filled a decorated box with a Marmite mg, coasters, water bottle, marmite crisps, peanuts, biscuits, cracker thins. It was great fun trying to find all the stuff and he loved it, especially has he knows I hate it

Poundland have some lovely Jane Asher cookery items in.

I've bought a 5ltr round tub with lid and filled it with all things needed to make bread and biscuits including cookie cutters for my daughter who wants to start cooking with her daughter. I have no doubt I will end up giving it to her before Christmas too as I fancy a 3 generation cooking day.
