Frog call kept me in a queue for over 1/2 hour and phone battery died. (Can you get replacement batteries for house phones?)

Yes you can, dancemum. Google the phone model name and number plus "uk" and compare prices including postage :money: The batteries are generally very easy to replace and recharge.

Thanks for encouraging me to do the extra half-hour at lunchtime, skinty. I had just finished writing the email when we had to go out - pressing Send had to wait until we got back! But that particular cane toad is no more :) Unfortunately, another one has crept out of the shadows...

Congratulations to Mr LW on decluttering the last of his baby teeth :D

  • Hi all

Paid stuff then hairdressers today. Bedroom dusted, hoovered and all clothes and shoes put away where they belong. I still need to declutter my wardrobe but want to get some vacuum bags first.

Seeing psychologist tomorrow with DS. I feel churned up already, I hate it. Its easy to pretend that someone isnt doing too badly when you live with their problems every day but sitting and hearing a professional unpick it all is tough. Still at least DS is now getting the help he needs.

    Ionafan - that's fantastic - well done! :T
Pigpen - I freeze apples and pears all the time - I peel/ core and chop mine and just freeze without doing anything else (I kind of dice mine) - I don't cook/ add liquid/ add sugar - then I throw into cake/ crumble/ pie as required (I don't add sugar to even cooking apples in crumble - I find the crumble topping sweet enough, and I usually throw in something like raisins, anyway, which are sweet) Fruit retains it's shape :)

Gorgeous weather here, so after getting home from SW (class takes 2 hours - I help out) (and I lost 2lb - yeay!) I did HH in the garden - picked some more pears and runner beans, did some pruning and got rid of some crispy bedding plants :) DS1 painted some more of the new fence :) I also did 4 lots of washing today - all dry bar the throw from our bed and a pair of DS1 footwear - both just a little damp so have been brought in so as not to get wetter overnight :) Also took opportunity to get into DS3's room and have a sort out of clothes, toys and books - small cull made :T Also took car in / collected it for MOT and service (£205 later - and that was with a clean pass:eek:! And DS2 and DS3 went back to school today (Y4 and Y1) - very tired and grumpy boys tonight :( As a result of doing this and making soup and marinading chicken for kebabs for tonight I've not really spent much time on lists.....

Lynne, thank you for the advice re: the scabies _pale_ Trouble is, DSD's mum has self diagnosed rather than taken her to the docs and apparently had the correct ointment in her possession so DSD has been slathered. I'm not sure where that leaves the rest of us -- I don't want to pay for OTC treatment for the other six members of the household if it's NOT scabies, but it doubt my doc will prescribe it for us en masse without having seen evidence of infection. So I either have to stump up the ££ which could be for nothing, or play the waiting game and see if any of the rest of us befall the same fate :( DSD doesn't actually have a rash at present, she's just very itchy all over and her mum is a well known hypochondriac so I have my suspicions about her diagnosis, but at the same time I don't want to end up itching for weeks either. Grr!
ETA: just looked at the ointment; each person requires two treatments of 30g, and each tube is £9  That'd be more than £100!!
Think you probably right to play the waiting game in that case. Scabies tends to be pretty specific - lines of itch such as wrists, skin folds etc iyswim. This general itch sounds more like an allergic reaction to something eh. Fingers xd for you all.

Morning flyladies, another one here prepping for the freezer. A lovely villager gave me apples and blackberries yesterday so they are now in individual portions ready for crumble or whatever. To be honest the mix was so delicious I think it would be nice just served up with ice cream. But GreenTs suggestion of just chopping and freezing as is was great and I may do that in future.

In the absence of a Wednesday list yet, I'm going to clean the downstairs loo this morning and cut the grass. I don't feel guilty about the noise now the school term has started!

    Have a great day everyone.

    Morning!

Love all the talk of apples, I've a few to prep today and a tree full.

Kiddies have had brekki, I'm just having a brew then I'll toast a tea cake. Bags are ready, DD meds made up and packed lunch sorted. I still don't know if school are including nursery kiddies in the school meals thing. She only has them twice a week and they are 95p so no hardship if not. But she has packup for wraparound care anyway.

Supposed to be warm today but looks a bit grim, may need to rethink the shorts idea for DS. Although shorts and tank top might work. They can take coats.

Got my laptop all logged on ready to go so I can whizz back from school to start by 9.15. Also have a Mr S shop coming today (stocking up for weekend and next week as I won't be up to shopping I shouldn't think) and I need to drop off at an amazon collection point. Ordered a wii game and they sent me a cd-rom of a different game altogether and not child friendly!!!

Right. Tea cake. To avoid the 8.40-halfway out the door- "mum I'm hungry" moment :p
