Hi Pink, yes it was me and you won't believe it but they look so much better than they did. I've had a sleeveless top on this week
I'm so much happier. I've got 28 lbs to go to goal so hoping most comes off my arms and legs x

    Helloooo gorgeous laydeeees :D

I'm on the big push - I got on the scales this morning (yes I know I'm not supposed to lol) and I'm 0.4 lb away from my half stone :D:D That'd be my first award, quite excited, I don't know why, I'm not 5 but still the thought of an award is exciting me, I might put it on my fridge :D

    Sooooo menu:

    B:toast, marmite, flora light (1/2)
L: pasta, el mayo, eggs, wafer ham, onions, peppers, celery (1/2)
D: Hm chicken chow mein with water chestnuts, mushrooms, peppers, mange tout, babycorn, carrots, onions. (2) for sesame oil
S: Mullerlight toffee and I had two seafood sticks earlier.

I'm hoping with days like this and lots of water, I can do it by Thursday :D

Oh and that humous looks lush and the pic of the breakfast fruit salad looks amazeballs (although I think it might kill me if I ate that for breakfast) :D

Oh and my Dad has that blood pressure doctor's thing going on, there's a name for it I think!! When he had the monitor on, he was fine at home :D

    Have fun all y'all :)

mumoftwo, so sorry to hear the people at the surgery upset you. I think whatever charm school they went to they should go back and ask for a refund.;) Of course you know what's really affecting your BP and that's your weight and stress. You're working on the weight :j so that'll keep improving over time. Is there anything you can do about the stress? More time for yourself? take a walk in the fresh air and leave the family behind? hit the gym and take your stress out on the machines? Something calming like the pool or the steam room? Pamper yourself.:A

I have been reading this week that sugar can be as bad for BP as salt's always been believed to be. That's easier to control on SW than salt but still need to watch out.

Shala - thanks for replying, I was counting the "peas" (actually petit pois) because I saw them in the book but they are actually super speed, not super free so well spotted!!! Will be swapping them for green beans. I normally do green plan because I'm veggie but was just going to stick to EE this week and talk to her about it next week.

Thank you so much for pointing that out - I would have been shovelling in the petit pois like there's no tomorrow as my superfree cos I love them. Maybe this is where I was going wrong the last time before I gave up.....!
There's really no point in you doing EE if you're a veggie daisy, all you end up doing is depriving yourself of the extra HEXs. Going by the book, you don't have to have one third of SFs on Red or Green but I'm convinced it helps if you do. The peas/petit pois will help speed weightloss as SS (even if they're not SF).

Totally with you on how weightloss makes you feel Julie. It's now more than 3 years since I got to target and I still feel great about it.:)

wiz, do you like carrots or swede? If you want to try cutting back a bit on potatoes try swede or carrot/swede mash or roasted carrots are nice if you've got the oven on. Gives you something substantial to eat alongside the meat and other veg. Even if you put some carrot into potato mash it would help cut back.

Anyone seen lush? I think she went off to her new holiday caravan but that seems like an age ago.

Good day here, just as well as I know tomorrow won't be (foodwise that is).

    My EE menu:
B: NAS Ribena, baked beans, HEB toast
L: cold chicken, fried veg, cornichons
D: chicken casserole (potatoes, leeks, onions, carrots, celery, butter beans, mushrooms) with savoy cabbage.
Syns: scrape of spread, cornflour in casserole

Thanks Maman for your suggestion I like carrots and I haven't had them roasted, I don't like swede really but I can tolerate a little when I mash carrots, sometimes I use turnip with carrots.
I have done well today I kept to three fruits and had no bread at all which kills me.
Do you know of those arm exercises that someone on here talks about. I could do with knowing what they are. thanks.

A good simple bingo wing exercise is to get two tins of beans, one in each hand and put your arms out to the side and raise and lower them, to your sides then up to shoulder level with your arms straight, like your flapping your wings if you had wings, but slowly :D:D

  • Afternoon all

I do love the support on this thread :) Food pics are always good to see as well.

Rest of my menu for today:

L - None :( I was in London and bought a sandwich but never managed to eat it (I hate eating on the go)

D - Grilled rib eye steak (fat removed) with a salad (leaves, toms, cucumber, beetroot, red onion and red pepper) with some full fat mayo ( less than 15ml) and SW chips.

Snack - One of those Muller chocolate desserts (5).

Lots of water to drink. Syns around 10.

BEG - don't be too disheartened, your weight loss has been brilliant since you started.. your body might just be having a break :D

Went bra shopping last night - mine are embarrassingly tatty - anyway i measured myself before i went and i've gone up a back and a cup size  hopefully next time i have to get a new bra i'll have gone back down!! (it is the most comfy bra i've ever had though)

Thanks shala - I was going to say that I am back on it today but I haven't been off it if you know what I mean. My consultant called me today to say that I looked unhappy with the sts last night and asked if there was anything she could do to help - my body language must have spoken volumes as I don't think I said that much. ;) Re the new underwear - DH has suggested that it may be time to look at getting some new as the old stuff doesn't seem to be as supportive as it was (more room to wobble about in it I think). Relectant to spend too much on it as hopefully I will need smaller soon (fingers crossed)
PLeased to report -2lb today. Got my (virtual) 2 stone award.

Thought I'd show you my breakfast for today. One of my favourites - fruit (nectarine, strawberries, raspberries, green grapes and banana) with fat free Greek yoghurt, a couple of spoons of flaked almonds (B choice) and a (generous) drizzle of honey (2.5). Absolutely delicious. Sorry for the super large pic - no idea how to resize!

Congratulations on award Twinkletoes. :T That breakfast looks very pleasing to the eye ;) and I bet the tum didn't mind it either.

Thanks for the advice, lovely peeps, I really appreciate it.

I still have about 11 st to lose, so it's my own fault. I also have a stressful life. My bloodpressure was 206/? The third time it had come down to 192, extremely high. The home readings will tell the truth more though.

Good thing I already eat bananas and tomatoes. Beetroot is meant to be good too. I'll just plod on, worse thing I can do is sod it and give up, lol

I suffer from high bp mumoftwo. Many years ago it was around the 190s and the gp at the time said I had to try and lose weight to see if it dropped as he was reluctant to put me on meds. Sure enough I lost several stones and then the bp numbers came down. Around 20 years later I regained all the weight I had lost earlier :o and the bp was quite high again but this time I have been put on medication. I would say to keep on doing what you're doing and see how things go. Re the home bp kits - my mum has one and when I tried hers, I found the cuff to be on the ....... shall we say ...... the snug side. I think replacement cuffs are available but they are as expensive as the whole machine. Damn it - you all know that I have massive bingo wings now :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

He's lost 6 stone in the last few years and it's slowly creeping back on so he wants to get a handle on it now rather than later :D

unfortunately we're both like food junkies, once one of us gets it in our head we want pizza, cookies etc we have to have it .. it would be easier if one of us was naturally health conscious to keep the other on track but it's not to be :(

Glad to see your week has got a bit happier... :D

My DH has being doing SW with me and by eating the same (cooking a lot of it ;)) he has lost around 3st now and the so and so was only a smidge over 11st when he got weighed last week. No doubt that will be under 11 this week - I'm not jealous mind you - no green eyed monster here at all :rotfl::rotfl:

  • Maman I think you're right but it just seemed easier because she didn't ask me anything about being veggie. I did EE for about 5 months when I first started and lost 2.5 stone so it did work for me. I did green plan earlier this year (it was maybe you who advised me to do that) but I didn't seem to get anywhere. However I wasn't being strict on the plan so maybe that was the problem. I will speak to my consultant this week and see what she says, if EE works for me then its maybe best just to stick with that.

Half the problem with me is that I'm doing it from memory from two years ago rather than reading the books - I need to go back to basics I think. Work out what plan I'm doing then stick to it religiously because I know SW does work! And being on this forum - had loads of good advice and I've not even been back on plan for 24 hours!!!! :T:T:T:beer:
