I think what made it worse was they were the type that is elasticated at the ankles. If they hadn't been then that would have been fine but the excess material was flapping gently in the breeze :rotfl:
Got very stressed today. Asda was awful- my anxiety got the better of me and I'm only just starting to calm down now. OH's antics have nearly had me in tears twice today and not in a good way  and to top it all off my new meds have exacerbated my alopecia and ive lost half my hair

Thank you Lauri for directing me over here!

I posted this on an older thread:

Hi all, may I join you?

I'm going to join SW (again, did it many years ago) on Monday. Some of my work colleagues who form a small buddy group for weight loss were horrified that I was going to join this close to Christmas!

I know it's probably not the time most people join, but it's the time that everything has come right for me to join. I'm heavier than I've ever been, and I'm at a junction in my life where I can go down the obesity-related disability and illness route (I may already be there, but hope I can reverse the damage I've done by getting so big), or I can go down the other route which sees me doing moderate sustainable exercise and eating more sensibly for the rest of my life.

I may not lose a lot of weight, although I would really like to. What I want to do is create a happy active future, instead of one where there might be no future at all, or one with severely reduced quality of life, if I don't act.

Anyhow, I think the time is right for me to start getting my weight monitored and attending meetings to focus myself a bit better. I will of course go off plan and eat like a crazy thing on some days, so I don't expect a very good weight loss over Christmas.

What I do hope for is that being on the plan will give me a little more control so that I don't go crazy over the whole two weeks (I work in education so in recent years it's just been a two-week binge!!) and might stand a chance of not putting on half a stone or more.

    That's worth a fiver, I think!

I'm a little nervous about going to the meeting, as I haven't done this for quite a few years. It's very convenient though, very close to my house and on Mondays, which suits me best.

It would be great to be able to check in here and get advice and encouragement as well!

Welcome jpscloud :) This is a busy thread and there's always help and encouragement available. Good luck at group, I know it's daunting your first week (or even first week back) but I'm sure they will be friendly too.

The only thing I would say about starting now is that they are about to launch changes to the plan. In a way it won't hurt as you probably won't have quite got your head back around it before they change everything!

My verdict on my cooking efforts from earlier - cauliflower does not make a nice pizza base :rotfl: They were alright in a strange kind of way but nowhere near nice enough to bother grating another whole cauli head for group on Tuesday ;)

Might be a really stupid idea, but I've since thought about maybe just cooking some quorn chicken style dippers. They are half a syn each - just occured to me that meat eaters might not have tried them. I guess I should see what an actual chicken dipper is like syns wise first!

Dinner is based on the vegetable biryani in the fakeaway book. Smells lovely! I have in my typical fashion not entirely followed the recipe. I didn't have a few of the spices they suggested so I've cobbled it together with those I did have (garlic, tumeric) and mild curry powder and garam masala.

Thanks Crabapple :) I didn't know they were about to change the plan but that's ok, as you say I probably won't have my head around the current one anyway! It was just Red and Green when I did it years ago.

It's more about the psychology really - I think I am ready for a regular weigh in that gets recorded by someone other than me, if you see what I mean - also the shared recipes and support are very helpful.

Yesterday at work I noticed for the first time a difference in my energy levels. Usually I'm absolutely knackered and have sore back etc. I do carry a lot of weight around but funny how losing even 8-9lbs has made such a difference already. I had a very busy day and still I walked out without being totally exhausted. It s definitely a motivation to keep going and getting the next 11 stone off.

Welcome jpscloud  completely understand where you're coming from, sometimes I think we just need that accountability to give us that extra push to lose the weight or keep us in control.

People may think it's a little odd joining at this time of year but it's not them joining, it's you.. so if you want to then you do it! If you only put 1-2lbs on over xmas instead of 7lbs then it's done its job.. (this is an example i'm not saying you would put on 7lbs, I would though:rotfl:)
