I'm on your husbands side I'm afraid _pale_ I sometimes have it on shepherds pie/cottage pie but I think it ruins it :rotfl:

That's why I thought he'd be fine with it (can't believe I haven't made it before but only recently started getting swedes again), cos he's had it in mash toppings and enjoyed them! Guess it's okay as long as there's lots of potato in there too.

You're right there. That's why I said I'd make savoury mince at the weekend and then freeze half for a pie. That way the day we have it I only need to do mash. And I don't even have a baby, just idle.;)

It's not idle - batch cooking is one of the key things with SW imo, else you'd go crazy chopping veg :rotfl:

Morning, can I join in please? I've rejoined SW last Thursday. It's my 3rd attempt at it. The first time I did it I lost 3 1/2 stone, the second time my heart wasn't in it, the my consultant left due to illness, so I gave up.
4 years on and another baby, I am the heaviest I've ever been. I feel sluggish and out of breath. So I am in it for th long haul.

Welcome nic! Good luck with getting the weight off. I find I have to eat after my meeting because I don't want to have that extra little bit on me at WI. Most of my class seem to get the hi-fi bars or bring other snacks and eat them after they have weighed :rotfl:

I'm another who tends to drink tea when I am out. Pre SW I would have had a latte. I used to go to work via the coffee shop every day and buy a bucket of decaf latte and a croissant to take to my desk. I guess I'm going to have to change that when I go back after maternity, or I'll end up with all my weight back on again

Can't see exactly that on syns online

Tesco Fish & Vegetable sushi box chilled 209g is on at 3.5 for EE & Green or 10.5 for Red. So somewhere near that I guess!

And congratulations to ginvt on SOTW :-)

I found a 209g one fish and vegetable sushi pack from Tesco and it's 3.5 syns on EE

Or a mixed sushi box 192g - 2 syns also from Tesco

Still new to the website so not sure if that's the one you mean

nic - as you ate before group last week and 9pn is too late to be eating I'd be inclined to always eat before group. It's best to do the same every time you weigh, including wearing similar weight clothes; for example if you wore jeans the first week then wear jeans every week; if you were wearing lightweight clothes then wear similar each time.

I weigh in the mornings so not too much of a problem with regards eating but I certainly wouldn't be able to go without eating before an evening WI.

  • thanks maman; sounds like we have some heavy stuff to discuss but not enough time/space to get through it all today as an annoying colleague won't give me and manager a seconds space!

Maisie; I meant to say only artificial lights - there's no natural light in the sports hall used for our league weekends at the minute. All that time under artificial light is really draining. I do try and get outside even for a second to recharge but often that doesn't happen except on the lunch run if we do one!

Got three and a half days to really work on what I'm eating/drinking to be sure I at least see a sts when I weigh in Friday. Going to give myself a couple of days with a scales ban as I know I'll be holding a lot of water from the dehydration at first :)

Managing to get plenty of fluids so far today; a decent cup of tea to start the day and 750ml water already which is a big improvement compared to my normal intake!

Lunch is pumpkin soup with a little chilli kick - my dad made it for me and was adamant it was just a little kick from the chilli but its slightly more than that but its tasty and bearable (I am not a heat lover at all!) and its totally free :) I'll chase it up with a Satsuma and an apple I think as I'm after a fruity kick too :)

nic, I agree with denise about your WI. Do whatever suits you but do the same every week. My regular WI is in the morning too so I tend to have my lightest breakfast (cereal) before I go, wear similar clothes and I also tend to have one of our lightest dinners the night before too (SW Bolognese or chilli). Other people tend to wait until after WI but if that doesn't suit your lifestyle then don't do it.

On the breakfasts, I was going to suggest something cooked but you say you only feel like it at weekends. So I'd stick to things like fruit and yogurt, maybe some hard boiled eggs to munch or make a frittata/Spanish omelette and have that cold. As you're at home in the day you can always have something more substantial for lunch. I tend to go for jackets, soup, omelettes or fried up LO veg with cold meat and pickles. That way you could be sitting in Image Therapy eating your Alpen Lights or have cheese on toast when you get home. :)

I've always enjoyed SW, and even when not on plan, I always have it in my head and make SW friendly choices.
But I've enjoyed too much wine and share bags of crisps, and the weight has crept on.

My first weigh in is on Thursday, so unsure how I am doing. I have hidden the scales in the house as I'm a scale hopper.
I am struggling with breakfast ideas, so needed to get on here and get ideas and see what everyone else is doing.

I had too much wine on Saturday night :o so I'm reducing my syncs each day until the wine is counted for.

Meal plan for today is- EE

Brekkie- shape yoghurt and banana (free)
Lunch- cheese sandwich and mugshot ( hea, heb), satsuma
Tea- heck chicken burger, SW wedges, salad, hm coleslaw with ff and mayo (2 syns)

Other syns- marg - 1 syn, kitkat 5 1/2 syns

    Good Afternoon :)
