Wow to shala and beanie - fab losses :T

Last night's macaroni cheese experiment was quite nice. It seemed to me like it was trying to mask the lack of cheesy sauce with garlic though :rotfl:. It said that it was 2 syns a portion which can only have been the cheese, so I reckon if I made it again I'd use a full 4 HEA of cheese so there would be one per portion, and perhaps only one clove of garlic. Good thing me and hubby weren't going anywhere ;)

It was basically this :- http://www.slimmingworld.com/recipes/cheats-leek-macaroni-cheese.aspx but with added courgettes and mushrooms. I did some carrots and green beans as a side as well - lots of food and very filling!

    Happy Halloween!

STS FOR ME LAST NIGHT SHALA

Have given myself a good boot up the backside - can literally feel the weight I've gain around my middle its not comfortable and its a constant reminder - maybe that's a good thing. I missed flat belly class and step this week and I wonder is it all hanging out as such due to that.

I will have a loss on Thursday!!!!!!

    Gym tonight for sure

No more nonsense for me - target here I come. Time to get a grip!!!

Your losses keep me inspired! : ) :T

:T Brilliant losses shala and beanie. Well done!!:TI wouldn't rely on it just being labelled 'steak mince' you have to read the fat content. Sainsbury's label both 10% and 5% steak mince and Tesco 12%.

I'm glad you and beanie can see the difficulties. If we'd been at home rather than out with people I could have offered her a pile of old magazines (including SW) and that might have opened a conversation. I'm sure I'll get an opportunity soon.

website says 2 syns for a tbsp. and half for a tsp.

Agree with everything Maman has said, except for the chocshots I'd go for 3 tsp @ 1.5 syns rather than 1 Tbs for 2 syns (3 tsp = 15g; 1 Tbs = 15g!) Think SW are being a bit naughty there by upping the syns if you have a Tbs!

    Having another EE day today:

    B - mushroom omlette
L - ham salad sandwich spread with LTL mayo instead of butter
D - sausage, bean & chorizo stew with rice. I'm only using 30g of chorizo in the whole thing so works out at 2 syns for 4 portions so my portion will work out at just 0.5. I also use my local butchers sausages which are also only 0.5 each.

    HEA - milk
    HEB - bread
Syns - 2.5 for the stew; not sure what else yet
    Syns -

I ended up going over by 4 syns yesterday as had 4 Ryvitas for my HEB in the evening so had 20g of butter (5g on each) which took me over but not too much to pull back.

  • Ooh thanks mich, joedenise and maman - definitely going to get some to try :)

Today I looked up the syns in a McD's breakfast out of curiosity as I drive past one on the way to work and hate to admit I am partial to a breakfast muffin and a hash brown...needless to say I won't know unless it is the only option and I can have a few low syn days afterwards!

Yesterdays syns were minimal; co-worker made me some rice and dahl for lunch (so yummy! she is a star) for which I am going to count 5 (didn't have much as I filled up on fruit beforehand so only 3 tbsp. dahl and not much more in rice) for tea I had a jacket tattie with baked beans, remaining HeA in cheese, a pile of salad and some sliced lean roast pork :)

    Today:
Breakfast: HeB toast with a banana sliced over it. cup of tea
    elevensies: apple and NAS squash
Lunch: more dahl (5), pepsi max, green grapes and a Satsuma
afternoon smackerel: NAS squash and a Satsuma
Tea: I'm thinking savoury mince made with Heinz minestrone (a cheat bf taught me - divine!) 3.5syn with mash for me, Yorkshires for bf :)

Bf will have a waffle with jam and cream for dessert - any idea of syns in egg waffles? trying to find on google but limited success. Beginning to wonder if in the new year I pay for an online membership maybe.

Going to buy some scales today I think to have at home :)

Already feeling a little lighter/better in myself so hoping for good things when I next weigh :)

    .

Thanks for the response Mamam. I should have put it that it was the butcher steak mince, I have a feeling if i ask him i will a. have to repeat myself about 5 times and b. get the answer he thinks i want to hear and not perhaps the truth

Never too late to join in! Welcome :)

If you want to you could join the slinky for santa challenge? You can set yourself a target and report in which might help you get on track. It's not compulsory for joining the thread though!
