Thanks everyone. So, I had a wholemeal toast and two poached eggs, banana and I am drinking my coffee with a bit of milk. I am not sure about the rest of the day, need to check what is in the fridge and cupboards and probably make a trip to the shop to get some free/low fat quark to make dips, and maybe some chickpeas for hummus, so I can take veg sticks to work for me with the dips for snack tomorrow.

Need to be careful as we are offered free lunch tomorrow for picking up some sticks, straw and other forrest material so the new partners at the company can have their fun and build some insect hotels when they come over here from all over the world.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if, like Kiwi & Ginvzt you are trying to find a syn amount, are absolutely desperate and can't find an equivalent you would just get the calorie amount and divide it by 20 and that would give you your syn value?

    In that 1 syn = 20 calories ?

Check that with others before you go by it, but that's what I was told and it mostly seems to be the case.

    :D

    Today is:

Woohoo - SOTW on here as well :j Never had one before last week so made me very happy :D

WI last night was a 1lb loss Shala, when you update the lovely chart again. Thank you!

I'm 2lb off my 3 stone award now. Last week I really didn't eat enough veg or drink enough water so need to concentrate on little things like that this week and should get there, unless I have a mad blow out!

Welcome ginvzt! I remember your name from the pg thread a couple of years ago. We'll help all we can, this is a lovely friendly thread :)

That's a little simplistic isn't it though? Everything has calories in it and some things are free, such as mullerlights or contain things that are free (flavoured couscous, etc.)

Had my first weigh in and lost 7.5lbs! I got a half stone sticker!

Breakfast : Raspberries, NF Yoghurt and Branflakes (B)
    Lots of fruit for snacking
Lunch : homemade pumpkin soup, mullerlight
Snack: Scan Bran and Dairylea Light (as many syns as I eat, having a late tea as people are coming round).
Dinner: SW KFC Chicken, SW Chips, Salad

Got some Scan Bran from the group, is it sold in normal shops as it didn't seem massively cheap.

I fancied something to snack on that wasn;t massively unhealthy.

Thank you! It is going to be a slow start, as my OH lost his job and is doing most of the cooking, and does the weekly shopping and I am back at work, even if part time. I have two weeks till my birthday, and 6.5 weeks to our holiday in CenterParcs in France. Would be lovely to get some of that blob off me!!!!!!

So, I am starting with 14st 11lb (93.6kg). I need to reduce the intake of bread (I love the breadrolls here), chocolate bars (Twix and Kitkat), and eat more fruit and veg!

tweet, would you say the SW online was useful for you?

    Morning ginvzt .

The only thing I found useful about the SW online was I got the Healthy Eating plan sent to me after asking because I don't possess a printer and I also bought the SW book . Other than posting my weight weekly I thought it was a waste of money. A months online would have been better but you have to pay for 3 months :( If you need anymore help just ask :)

Try it, the 20 cal thing - for anything you would normally syn.... obviously the free food is still free.

Nestle - Mini Drifter Bar, 1 finger = 99 cals according to MFP
Drifter Biscuits , 20g bar 5 according to SW.

Smirnoff - Vodka, 25 ml 58 cal (MFP)
Smirnoff Red Label Vodka 37.5% ABV , 25ml 2.5 (SW)

Glico - Mikado, 1 Biscuit 11 cals (MFP)
Glico, Mikado, Milk, Daim or White Chocolate each ½ (SW)

Like I say, it's not absolutely perfect, BUT if you're in a muddle, haven't got access to syns amounts but have got calories - it's a good estimate. :A

    Good morning losers :D

Some good loses here again i see... just 0.5lb for me this morning which i'm fine with.

Might try a bit harder this week as i'm a bit behind on my target :o

Welcome to ginvzt - not to discourage you from joining online but why don't you try it on here for a week first and see if you can manage without spending so much money?

We're happy to answer any questions and check menus for you - which won't happen on the online service anyway (i don't thinK) There's a run down of the plan on post 1.

Also for syn values i find Google pretty good, i just usually google "syns milky way" or somehting like that and it brings up the answer.

Anyway onto my menu today EE
    B - banana, yougrt, granola (4)
L - ham salad sandwich (heb) pickles
T - HM burger and SW chips, corn, salad, warburtons thins (5)
S - crisps (5) milk in tea (hea) apple

    have a good un xx
    Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.

Saver-upper - absolutely agree. I think that's part of my problem at the moment!

May I ask a question about SW magazines. I've saved all mine for about 4 years and I need to declutter. What does everyone else do? Do you keep them? Keep the recipes? Other?

Maman - at the moment I still have all my magazines but I'm planning on scanning the recipes I want to keep and putting them into a folder, which I've already got other SW friendly recipes in (and some not so friendly!).

Once I've done that I'm planning on taking a few down to the Drs surgery and leaving them there - might even encourage some people to give SW a try. I have to go down once a month to collect repeat prescriptions so will probably take a few down each month until they've gone!

jocksojungle - I think you can buy them in Holland and Barratt but they are the same price as at Group. You can't buy them (or anything similar AFAIK) in general SMs.

Well done Crabapple on SOTW and reaching target for the challenge:T

I think I might have finally got my brain back in gear for SW - I only had 4 syns yesterday - no wine, no crisps, no biscuits :A.

    Having an EE day today:

B - mushroom & scrambled eggs on toast (HEB)
L - LO butternut squash & lentil curry/rice (need to cook some rice as DH took the LO rice to work for his lunch - there wasn't quite enough for both of us)
D - HM chicken breast stuffed with garlic butter and wrapped in bacon (5.5 syns), chips & veg (not sure what yet but probably green beans & peas

HEA - milk in tea throughout the day

Syns - 1 Tbs butter (in HM garlic butter) 5.5; may have a fruit split lolly this evening (3)

I've got apple, orange, grapes, pears & bananas to snack on if I want them. Also have one Mullerlight left so could have that if I fancy it.
