    Hello everyone:hello:

Can I join you, even if I am late to the party?..

I used to be a member of SW iver 3 years ago and did quite well, but then got pregnant, and since have been putting the weight on. I was about 11st 12lb, and just over 3 years on I am 14st 11lb. I keep attempting to lose weight, but seem to loose motivation, attempted to do 30 day exercise challange (by myself) last month, but slipped 2.5 weeks on and never recovered.

I don't live in the UK anymore and there are no SW groups around here, so I need to do it on my own. I still have the books and remember the rules, but seem to be struggling to del with the different foods here (Germany) compared to the UK.

So, I am just on the brink on turning 35 and I hate the way I look and feel. I have almost 2.5 year old twins, and I don't want them being like me or my OH (he is heavily overweight too).

I have looked at joining the SW online, but at 75 euros for three months, maybe I can attempt and do it with your support instead?...

Thank you! It is going to be a slow start, as my OH lost his job and is doing most of the cooking, and does the weekly shopping and I am back at work, even if part time. I have two weeks till my birthday, and 6.5 weeks to our holiday in CenterParcs in France. Would be lovely to get some of that blob off me!!!!!!

So, I am starting with 14st 11lb (93.6kg). I need to reduce the intake of bread (I love the breadrolls here), chocolate bars (Twix and Kitkat), and eat more fruit and veg!

tweet, would you say the SW online was useful for you?

Last night, somehow,I STS.Feels like I got away with messing around over the weekend.Must start focussing now.Because the way my work is at the moment, some days (like today) I have no time for lunch .Then tonight I was sooo hungry, and ate too much rubbish.Must not get complacent just because I have reached target 018.gif.

    Menu today:
Breakfast:2 thin slices wholemeal toast,Flora light marg,Marmite,an apple

    Lunch: a banana

    Tea: 4 fish fingers,mash potato,brocolli,baked beans

Snacks :4 Fruit bars  and 2 "Groovy" chocolate bars icon_eek.gif.

I am sure it wouldn't have happened like that if I had eaten properly throughout the day 018.gif.

Absolutely no problem, welcome. I'm sure tweets will let you know but I've never heard anyone rave over the online membership. I'd suggest you get your DH on board if he's going to be doing the cooking. My DH does our breakfasts and when I started I gave him a detailed list of what I could/couldn't eat. Kiwi has a similar problem to you in that she can't get some brands in NZ but I think if you stick to basic ingredients you'll be OK.

Too right!! I agree with every word!;)

May I ask a question about SW magazines. I've saved all mine for about 4 years and I need to declutter. What does everyone else do? Do you keep them? Keep the recipes? Other?

I don't struggle too much as I only do EE and I find it's quite easy to manage with the basics of fruit and veg, pasta, rice, eggs, bacon, ham and lean meats without any real need to count anything. I use my HEA as milk everyday for drinks and HEXB is nearly always bread for lunch or toast for breakfast on weekends.

I have built up a spreadsheet with all the free food things I like along with my regular little synny things such as butter, mayo and sauces. Although we don't have quite the same variety we do quite a few of the usual global brands, such as Cadbury's, Philadelphia cream cheeses, Ryvitas and Hellmans equivalent mayo. I still buy a few imported bits and bobs like Bisto gravy and Paxo stuffing at highly inflated prices expats shops.

The things I can't get direct comparisons for are mostly processed foods such as sausages, some biscuits and dairy stuff that I can do without most of the time anyway. :D All I do is compare the items online to something that I think would be similar; like 1% fat Greek Yoghurt and assign it a syn value in my own spreadsheet.

So far today I'm doing okay:

    B. Greek Yoghurt and raspberries#
    L. Philadelphia Extra Light and Boiled Bacon Sandwich (HexB) and Bowl of Salad
    D. Is going to be more boiled bacon and something yet to be decided
Snacks: Apple and a little packet of Sunsweet prunes
    Mortgage
    Start January 2017: $268,012
    Latest balance $266,734
    Reduction: $1,278.45
